Local moderator RabidMonkey is a mapper (and a leet one at that) for the Black Mesa (they couldn't keep the Source) mod, for those of you that didn't know. Probably quite few, but still. It's an impressive mod.

Stop being fucking random and help the guy. God damn it.

Jason: When having GCFScape opened, go file -> Open.
Then, browse your way to Steam/steamapps/half-life.gcf and open it.
Select halflife.wad and right-click -> Extract.
Extract it in steam/steamapps/[your name]half-life/valve.
Add halflife.wad to your textures in hammer.

I don't know how much clear I can be.

A forest-themed episode will be fine by me, but I don't see how the source engine will produce large, forrested areas with any detail at all... We'll see.

And yeah, you don't need new models or weapons or enemies, but that's kind of what I expect from a 250-SEK expansion... Look at OpFor - in comparison, OpFor is gigantic-huge-big-extreme, for the same money.

The story and telling of it in Episode One kicked ass, though. But worth that amount of money? I'm not sure.

http://themightyatom.nl/ - for MuzzleFlash.
http://hunter.weebitmagic.com/ - For The Hunter.

And no, I don't know PHP, but I will learn it some day. Just can't be arsed.
Tally ho.

One thing that kind of bugs me is that there's practically no new content except new animations, dialogues and scenes - no new weapons, no new monsters (rkprcg mbzovarf) or anything that majorly changes game play. A few new textures, models and scenes don't cut it, really.

My tip for you is: Don't make the bubbles bubbles, make them rectangles with rounded corners. It looks much better (imho) and saves space.

Also, think of the layout of the bubbles - [TOP LEFT] to [BOTTOM RIGHT], in the order they should appear. Otherwise, non-manga-readers will be confused.

You might want to consider giving the bubbles' borders a brighter colour, to not steal attention from the text.

Give different characters different fonts, it makes them much more recognizable.

Depends on the weapon - anyway, I think he means a server command. You'd need a server mod like Admin-mod or AMX (They do exist for source right?).

The FF7 story is amazing - even though only told in text dialogues, the story is compelling and the characters are lovable. It made a great impression on me the first time I played it, and did so again the second and third time I played it.

The Half-Life idea of only showing exactly what the player sees, nothing more, nothing less, is brilliant. It really gives you the feel that you are Gordon, you know what he knows and experiences what he experiences. Together with brilliant character animation and voice-acting, Half-Life 2 is easily the best story-telling FPS of all time. Atleast, in my opinion.

Uh... just experiment with the value. I think 4 is normal - so try 2 or 3. Not sure though, that might just be for sv_friction, func_friction might be from 0 to 1. In that case, try 0.5 or something.

Updates, updates, glorious updates:
  • Today a big demonstration, organised by the Liberal Youth, Young Left and the Swedish Piracy Bureau, was held in central Stockholm, against the police raid.
  • Since the raid, the Swedish Pirate political party has boosted its member count hugely - it's now around 5000 (A lot, mind you, for a 9 million country).
  • The Pirate Bay is up and running.

Christianity follows a set of rules - what to believe, how to act, what to do. Christians follows the new testament and believs in a all-mighty being in the sky. It doesn't change or evolve into new forms.

Science explores new things, finds out facts about the world we live in and tries to explain the inexplicable - it changes constantly, without a firm set of beliefs for how everything is built or will be.
That's why it's superior.

Also, yeah, I'm not christian cause it would be such a bother to not kill people or bare false witness. Cause that's what you do if you're not religious.

I'm more concerned that the MPAA kindly requested action from the US Govt. who in turn took it with the swedish minister of justice who directly ordered the take-down. It's corruption, it is.

A little late, yes, but worthy of discussion.

The Swedish police, with a force of 50 policemen, raided not only the house in which the Pirate Bay servers lay, but also several private homes all over the country, connected to the Pirate Bay. They didn't just take Pirate Bay servers, but other companies' servers, hosting from the same ISP - sites including the Swedish piracy bureau and istheshit.net.

This raid followed a police report filed by the Swedish Anti-Piracy bureau, having harrassed The Pirate Bay to no avail for several years.

Discuss - let this thread be the spiritual sequel to the "Warez - Right or wrong?"-thread.

I think it's pretty bullshittay by the Swedish police. First of all, they did no investigation at all on their own, or so it seems, or else they'd known that the Pirate Bay servers held no copyrighted material, only torrent files. But, the police and IT, you know.

Anyway, what's worse is: They're following the Anti-Piracy bureau's and the entertainment industry's word blindly, without even questioning the validity of the request.
Dreadful.

Hopefully, the Pirate Bay attorney will kick the shit out of them and sue the Swedish state to hell, but that's not really likely to happen.
