You know what I fancy?

That loading screen on Flat-Life where you choose the map, defined by that text file that goes in the maps folder.

If 6D turns into a kit like FL, I think it should be lead by FL's example. Kudos to Chickenfist for a brilliant feature, it keeps people off of the console and away from external programs like Muzzleflash's HL Launch Pad.

And yes, 6D is turning into a kit like FL.

This is actually well organized. Now you just need some concepts or something imagery like. You'll touch yourself later if you keep it organized and manage to do a written list rather that spur-of-the-moment sort of stuff.

So far, I'm kinda interested in seeing this completed. Although the story feels weak, but any story can be epic if you throw the right events and deliver them effectively.

No developments.

Honestly, it would feeling nice to work on this again, but later will come eventually. I don't have much to do on as far as extra stuff goes. I also haven't dug into Milkshape up either, so that may result in more monsters.

I could redesign the Navengers and Glizards to fit the Scientist and Headcrap bones... although Glizard will look more hedgehog-like I bet. :/ But as long as they work I guess...

Soon it will be Education

I keep my childhood afloat by listening to a variety of VG Music, as well as some of the radio songs I;ve heard and managed to track down many years later.

First games I've played were on the atari which were Pacman, space invaders, centipede, and a few others. Then we got a Super nintendo, which then it was Super Mario World.

... why'd did I have to go down memory lane? Right now in the present, I'm about to lose my fuckin appartment! :furious:

just quickly add something that after 90 days from the last login date and you have no maps in the vault what so ever, it removes the account. all you really need to do is run this once to clean things up.

that'll remove all of those FreeViagra spam accounts

capstone project fell through back then and I failed the class because of it. there are no deadlines set since the schedule is looking really bad for me for the next 6 months. If i get free time, i'm going to spend it on things i know can be completed quickly, or things with a good ending point. probably either the turnstile weps or some other various models for 6D.

I have no idea where this is going...

I have gotten better at texturing/modelling/unwrapping/etc. I can work Milkshape to get the new enemies done so that's not a prob. Daubster is doing his own thing, so is Grim.

If this ever does finish, it will be a kit like Flat-Life. I will provide a wealth of resources and stuff to use, but the maps will likely be created by whoever.... i just don't know.

I do know that this has taken the back seat, and will remain there for at a minimum of 6 months :/ srsly.

Ideas?

What's yours?

Mine is to be less lazy. Sometimes one can be too confident in their skills and takes things for granted. This can happen to anyone. Well, some advice is: It will only be as good as you try to make it be. I've also learned a bit of patience (or more patience) and trying not to be jumpy when trying to finish something in a single sitting. Also, the WIP thread provides a place for me to post something, even if I don't finish it. It's all good.

Not much of a room, and its still in the rough.
New custom tree models are nice, they sway gently in the wind like so few other tree models do. Plus having models, I rendered out a nice treeline texture for all sorts of purposes. Ripped the animated water from NS, and spent a good hour on google search studying tile bathrooms :(

srry is right, there are things to think about with compiling and lighting. Skybox isn't necessarily a concern as long as our rooms stay as rooms. ;)

For custom textures, why not prefix them. Example: RIM_CRETE1A, RIM_REDLIGHT.

Or if you really want to open up control, make each room an individual map. That way we can compile with our own settings and sky boxes. Just fill out a list of map slots so we all know the names of the maps we need to connect to :) As far as resources go, it would be like a big map pack rather than a single map loaded with stuff... Plus no one person needs to compile the whole thing when its done.

I like the whole idea. Who can make the best room? I don't know!

EDIT: are their any rules besides it has to be a room? how about additional content like models and textures? or is it defaults only?

A quite comical replacement for the tripmines, one that alters them to serve as large platforms. They work too, they have an area that is much larger than the tripmine's original collision box. Fun for those out-of-reach areas.

Tried my hand at some cartoon style stuff. It has a bit of potential but its not growing on me yet. I like the idea I could make drawn sprite trees and grasses, so I may develope something out of this. Already, I had made a nice beach wave that is well animated as well as a very lovely sky. Also tried for an infinity edge on the map. The skybox's TGA blue and the texture's BMP blue have the same RGB value, but they just refuse to line up perfectly. sigh

+1!

For those who respect games, they release a lot of stress. They also provide safe environments to kill people. We are a very violent species and always have been for thousands of years.

Violence will always be around, we just have a more civilized way of taking care of our urges for destruction.
