Personally, I think it's time for a change anyway. I'm not a very sentimental person, I'll miss the name but I won't stop it leaving.
As long as all the awesome people who are here now head into the fray of a new face for TWHL as well... The only way to go is up.

It's like prayers, you just gotta wait and see if the almighty creator answers them.
But y'know.

Actually, I like www.usermadecontent.org. It doesn't have a whole lot of ring to it though. www.mapvault.org seems a pretty decent idea to me. Well, better than some.

I think the name might be better off looking a little more towards mapping and creativity than Half-Life. (Half the maps aren't Half-Life nowadays anyway, just it's engines.) Just as long as it still relates to it somehow.

Do you actually read anything Crollo? It was established it was the wrong Atom hours ago.

Also, phones run at that resolution in such a small screen size for better image quality
Was that not what he was trying to say? A higher resolution in a smaller space creates a sharper image, which makes for better image quality.

In regards to being a MOTM moderator:
  • I do own Steam copies of most valve games (with a couple of exceptions, eg. Counter Strike and Left 4 Dead 2)
  • I would enjoy playing through all the maps this site has to offer each month
  • I've got a very respectable grasp of spelling and grammar, if I may say so myself
  • I've got plenty of free time
  • The fact I've been here for so long while hardly ever submitting maps shows I've got some dedication to the community
However, I'm not experienced in writing comprehensive reviews, and I'll probably be strapped for time later this year (what with the last year of high school and all).

Roughly recently, I've been playing Assassin's Creed, Monster Hunter Tri, Chrono Trigger and Pokemon HeartGold.
Also X-COM, Jagged Alliance 2, Lands of Lore 2, Dungeon Crawl and Minecraft on the side.

Y'see, the whole problem with this argument is that "best" isn't being solidly defined. Some people are arguing that other engines are better because they are more powerful and the end result can be of a better quality, while others are arguing that Source is better because it is simpler to use and can give a decent result easily.
And some of you are just ignorant, arrogant pricks. Guess who.

Source is simpler, and other engines are higher quality. Just remember that when you argue that an engine is "better" without explaining how, all you're doing is giving your opinion, not a definite ruling.

TL;DR: Shut up.

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter - Grand Cathedral

When I was at my brother's place last, I discovered that he had an electric piano/keyboard (whatever you call it). I actually figured out how to play this, and found the setting that made it sound exactly like it does in that music. :D

I enjoy the Half-Life 2 games immensely and I have absolutely nothing against the Source engine, but I'd much rather map for Goldsource. Why, you ask?... Good question. Maybe I just prefer the simplicity.

I've tinkered with the Serious Sam editors before. I imagine you could make some awesome stuff with it, but it just lacks the feel of Half-Life.

The opposite goes for the Neverwinter Nights editor. I DID want to be able to use that well, but I couldn't figure it all out.
