Lol. I think a lot of people will like it. Practice against bots before you play online might be a good Idea. n00bs get kicked a lot so practice before you get on a server. I went online b4 i played against bots. I got kicked from 2 servers, 1 for lag, 1 for n00bishness, and when I finally got on a server i didn't get the ball once, lol.

Well thats from the compile log. Check the ZHLTProblems.html which I think should be in your Start menu under Start->Programs->ZHLT. It gives a detailed explanation of the error, which is stolen from tommy14's site, or tommy14 stole it from the ZHLTProblems.html.

IOS is a first and third person online multiplayer soccer game that aims to be the online equivalent of great console soccer games but with a true multiplayer teamplay experience.
IOS stands for International Online Soccer.

Well i reckon this mod is pretty cool, the stadiums look great, and it is pretty good fun to play. The only problem I had with it was the lack of servers around my area (since I live in Australia) so I had to join servers in the UK and my ping was 400, making it unplayable, so I just downloaded the Server & Bots Patch from the site and played against bots, which is still good fun.

So none of you do what I did I will tell you now, the further u aim up, the harder you kick it and the higher the angle of the kick is. To dribble the ball just look down and keep clicking.

Have a read through the site, and the tech section includes the fdg, a map for you to have as a starter, with all the entities and stuff all ready for you, so all you have to do is make the actual grandstands, and the textures.

The models are pretty well cool, they have loads of different teams to choose from, each with a different jumper for the team, and in the tech section it has a 3DSMax Football (Model of the soccer ball) example for you to customize. When you kick a goal, there are celebration model animations if you press Space or 'E' i think.

Oh well, I like this mod, you should try it out too.

Captain P is right, my first impression wasn't overly great either. If we count the amount of n00b mods that have died, and put them in a cemetery we would have a cemetry the size of New York city :D

The above is most probably untrue, as I have no idea how big New York city is, but was said in order to emphasise the amount of dead mods in this world

You would need to rename the NW wad file half-life.wad and overwrite the old one wouldnt you?

Anyways I'm gonna do it, even if it means having to spend hours in wally renaming all of the textures :D

maybe put one of ur already made maps in the map vault and see the response you get, grif. If people are impressed, people may be interested, myself may be one of those people. If people think it sucks then no-one will be interested. If you don't put a map in, people will assume u are a coward, and that you didn't want to release it because you were worried it might put a bad name into your mod, as we have, well let's just say a few, members who might well see it and think "wtf is this shit?". I'm sure you will find it a lot easier to find people when they know what the mod is, and how talented your team is.

It doesn't look like you have had much success so far at finding someone to help you on this site, maybe releasing a map might help you, or unhelp you :)

get zhlt compile tools, the ones u are using are meant for quake, hence the qcsg, qbsp and qrad. google for zhlt and download it. :)

Hmm, real horror. This is highly unlikely, but did anyone go to Dreamworld on the Gold Coast (QLD, Australia) during the christmas holidays? Because they had a temperory attraction there, some Tomb Raider thing. NOW THAT WAS SCARY. Basicly just a really dark maze with light effects, and sound effects. Although the scariest sound effects came from the real people inside the maze which were ahead of you, screaming their lungs out, leaving you wondering whats ahead. They had some walls made of like net kinda stuff with real people wearing make up and a costume to make them look like monsters behind them. Whenever you walked past they would poke out and roar/scream at you. In fact, I saw one of them scare some people in front of us, so I said to him "I know you are there, so you better not scare me". Me of course being me, walked past without suspecting he was actually going to scare me. However, when I actually did walk past him, he screamed in my ear and scared the shit out of me, and the 'monster' started pissing himself laughing. Now i dont get scared very often, but HOLY CRAP, that was scary. It was designed by the worlds best 'scare-master' or something but god damn, that was scary. The least scariest bit was actually when a couple of japanese tourists accidently led us into the fire exit, and eventually to a dead end. Aren't they nice :)

Amazes me just how detailed the architecture is -- apparently it's not even damaging poly counts
If you read the site you would realise they made the r_speed limit 1200 instead of 600-800, although the architecture still looks really detailed for even 1200 wpolys :zonked:

You're right there seventh. I use fireworks though. Just make them in there and copy into the .wad u want it in when ur in wally. It's a whole lot easier.

sweet :D i noticed zeeba-g made a journal entry saying he is making a mario map. Maybe he can help with the mod. In the mean time... we need modelers and does anyone actually know any way to get docrocks mario.wad... coz I like those textures, theyre cool :) I might post the very unfinished mario dungeon map I started working on in the Unfinished Vault. Have you started mapping yet xlokix (can i just call u loki? :zonked: ) coz if you have i can send you the mario.wad from the site which I have slightly customized (added a couple new textures). Download some of docrocks maps, use his sprites etc. BUT give him credit for it :) He has a coin sprite which could come in handy, however i cant think of what we could actually do with them : maybe 25 coins = health back up to 100. and when u fall, i dont think we need the "Minor Fracture" voice. dont remember that in mario :nuts: Oh and i haven't been doin the mario map lately. Too busy on my compo entry :P

Oh and supermariomod.com sounds good. Although, you dont really have to get webspace you haev to pay for. just find a webhost with no ads and then .tk it :D

I know what you mean hazardous... BUT, if a person did win under those circumstances, that would mean that he/she is a better mapper than me and i wouldn't have won anyway, because he/she would have used their better mapping skills on a different map. AND PLUS, if someone does use it I would amazed. It means that my idea was indeed a good one. Although I don't know what stooge would actually want to steal the idea of not functional old stamp factory machine : sounds kind of stupid to me :)

well i dont stand a chance of winning but im entering anyway :

Mines an abandoned stamp factory with a big old rusty stamp machine there. Although it looks nothing like a stamp machine (not that i would know what that looks like anyway), it looks alright. When I finish this i might extend the map and chuck in some gameplay :) Sound fun? Walking around an abandoned factory with monsters around every corners as well as some nice weak floors to fall through :lol: (which i would imagine might get annoying after u fall through a few of them)

Oh well, there goes the idea for my entry... not that i have a chance of winning because it aint very original and well how functional can an old unusable machine be?.... lol

I'm looking forward to seeing other peoples entries. I just hope i dont come last :zonked:

ok xlokix... get a copy of the mario.wad from the vault and start mapping.... i wanna see some peoples mario maps :) just make sure u give correct credit if u use other peoples things (textures, models, sprites, etc.) i recommend downloading DocRock's mario maps, and maybe use some of his sprites and models. Let's keep it as HL1 until HL2 actually comes out :) And when you make the map try to be original, don't rip the real mario levels off to much :) Is anyone else in this with us?

Hi!!!!
I'm trying to make a cs map of a skateboarding pool with a skateboard (func_vehicle) but when you try and go up the half-pipe type thing, the skateboard stops and bounces back likes its just hit a wall. Is it actually possible to make a skateboard map or is there a way to fix this?

Let's just hope it doesnt turn out like the Final Fantasy movie.... :) One of the greatest games of all time turned into a shizenhousen movie!!! :zonked: Squaresoft shouldve made it based on FF7 coz that was the coolest.
