I can make elevators with doors. You dont have do all of that func_train stuff for the doors. Simply just use doors and put in triggers and the buttons trigger a multi_manager that toggles doors to close and elevator to go back down. Easy.

I was a quiet member of the collective, rarely posting but a member none the less. When I was browsing their forums, I noticed the map exchange, which had been there for quite a while but I rarely went in the forums so I never bothered with it. I went in hoping to post a beta of nuclear core. But there was a message saying to use the "map vault". I clicked the link, which brought me to TWHL, I joined. THE END!

You dont compile a rmf, rmf is simply a proprietry format used by hammer. compilers cant read rmfs, only maps.

QTools cuts lots of corners. One map I made detected a coplaner plane in ZHLT and QTools left it alone, but when I played it, it was f**ked up. So try and get it working with ZHLT.

Same here, I got a sony a couple of years ago and I payed ?280 for it. It has never had any skipping problems or disk reading problems. Except from my first one which was faulty (it got stuck and freezed). Then I got a replacement of it and it has been fine.

The reason that error existed is probably cos you decompiled a big map. Which distorts brushes and splits and carves to hell.

I avoid carve as much as possible now. In my first map, I used carve, and it fuggered it with tons of leaks, and as a noob, i didnt know what was wrong! So I had to remake it from the stuff that was intact. If it can be done with carve, Vertext Manipulation or Clipping can do it better! :D

in Walls and floors AAAGGGHHH!!! Post #32443
esmajor, VisGroups are only there in RMF files because compilers do not need them. The RMF format was created by valve to make editing maps easier as they contain information which maybe useful while editing. My advice is to edit them as rmfs and when u compile them, just export the .map file. Also, I never used VisGroups ever.

I feel like brainstorming. I starting a small project with a couple of maps with one or two TWHL members to take part in. With Isotope delayed until Half-Life 2 and only one map to work on which I will finish possibly today, there isn't anything to really work on. So, if you want to take part, just post here with some ideas so we can develop a little story. Also, if you want to help with the mapping etc, just say!
