na just food and weapons. what would people do with money in the city?

and we need to code in a rising and setting light spot that acts as a normal sun. theres got to be a way to have it make an ark above the map and have it alwayspointed at the middle of the map. that would make the gam funner becasue you could have the sun set every 15 minutes or so and stay down for 15 minutes. that would make the game funner.

but i was mapping long before that and im here alot now that i found this site.

well i was at the VERC you see and for some reason my computer kept crashing when i went there. so i went to google and looked for HL mapping pages. i eventually stummbled upon this little jewel called TWHL...

...so by now i have gotten second place in a compo and know more now then i did when i first came. even though i had been mapping for many years now there was always something new to learn...

...and that was how i ended up finding out about VERCs flaws and how baddly dial up does suck.which makes me think about a comic called ctrl-alt-del that has inspired...

...so now you no what happened to me in my short trip to germany where my cousin told me about cs and his clan which inspired me to map my first real map which i called...

im not ging to bother posting the rest of the story, it is very long and won't teach you much

monster makes that only spawn when your near them kinda like They Hunger. anyways it probbably be best if we limited the city and made most of your time in creppy under ground tunnels. so Jahzel do you want me to e-mail you the nuke missle in its own RMF so you can use it in that bunker. it loooks fantasic.

We decided on that in the original thread and it won't be changed. if you really want to see how its coming I might be perswaded to post ONE screen. but only if thats Ok with bratty. and id rather not, the entire point of this project is suprise. the people who have already went don't know how it continued until its finished and the people ahead don't know what to expect.

Im working on a military blockaded bridge right now. from what it looks like. it probably be a good escape route. i have triggers set so when you make it over the first barakade the military detonate the middle of the bridge. and you know how you said eairlyer that you can't give the player total freedom. well you could give them the freedom to try and make a dash to escape the city anytime they wanted but make it hard enough where it would only be feseable if you are well equiped. as in alot of the better weapons to take care of the tank on the bridge and all the grunts trying to prevent you from leaveing

i need to get it somewhere. does anyone know where i can download it from. i also need the HL 1.1.0.6 to 1.1.0.7 patch because i just reinstaled HL because of an error and i don't have the ability to download the 82mb full 1.1.0.8 patch so im doing it in increments. but that one patch is very elusive. but anyway ive seen darkstar at a friends house.

GTA is also on X-box controls are better in my opinion to for that game. X-box can also support DVDs if you buy this little plugin. Get an X-box there worth more then PS2. the only thing that PS2 is better for is the number of games. most of them are remakes or a part of seires or ported or multiplatformed so your number of games accully isn't very much larger. and then theres the x-boxs harddrive. i have 12 FULL CDs stored on it and it still says more then 50000+ blocks availible. my friend experimented and got it to go down after something like 200 saved games and 20 CDs. do you know how many ps2 memory cards you would need to match that. and in GTA you can set the radio to cd changer and you can play soundtracks stored on your x-box. PS2's are good, but you can get more from an x-box for the same price.

AND NEVER BUY A :badass: GAMECUBE :badass:

i decompiled the niliath level to see how they made the recharging crystals and the level was huge. then i looked at the level after it to see how they made the never ending elevator and it took up the entire grid check it out if your not against seeing how they did it.

when you play the game with the CD in you get the background music. where on the CD is the music. and if its imposible to get it off the cd is there somehere i can download it, because i really like the background music and want to listen it out side of the game becasue it never lasts long and there are many sounds overlaping it.

and if for some reason you don't know where you can find zhlt.wad then you will suffer the fate listed above.

ZHLT.wad comes with Zoners Half-life Compile Tools and if you don't have thoughs may god have mercy on your soul as the chinese use your bones of drumsticks.

the Zen's enemy. the telnorps aperently sealed the portal between ZEN and ZAN. when they were stolen the portal was opened, and freeman had to get them back.

i can find a comic to relate to any issue. if its about computes i usully turn to CTRL-ALT-DEL

bottom line PS2 are acceptable. X-box is better. and camecube are worth shite and are shite nad don't deserve shite.

Ive barrowed a PS2 for a week from a friend. i got an x-box anyway. x-box is better, many more original games. FF10 was only good looking because of the software not the PS2. all of x-boxs games are good looking. specificly DoA beach vollyball. and you asked eairler why that game would be affected by your marige, the game is all the chicks from the dead or alive siries in bikinis playing vollyball on the beach in very nice grafics. and get an x-box because x-box live is better then the PS2 equivelent and the 16 player support. I once was at a 4 x-box halo party. 16 people. 8 downstairs 8 upstairs and lots of pizza. the most fun ive ever had in my life.

the map is pretty big and complicated and my computer cant handle it. anyone for me to mail it to to get it compiled. i still have 3 buildings to finish up and that should be done by tommorow. the street i was going to give a screenshot of to ministeve to is done though. so anyone in this project with a good computer.

look at the sounds/gman folder in a pac explorer and listen to noregets.wav i think this was the original but wasn't used. it explains alot more about why you get teleported into a room of alien grunts. anyways i vote the g-man. because he let you keep the HEV suit :D

no its the 3dtexted view from hammer maximized. anyway its all blury for some reason it acculy look better then what your seeing. and when HL reders it with the lighting it looks great.

and if I make them all func_walls then we will have more missing faces problems.

from the readme that TWHLmix comes with

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES


1.Make sure you are using the latest version of HL-> Version 1.1.1.0

2.The VERY NEXT THING you do: make sure the last guy sent you a .rmf!
If you don?t use VHE, then I pity you. MAKE SURE IT WORKS!
?If it dosen't, pass it backwards for the last guy to fix, or get
permission to screw with his work and make NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS
?remember to correct the visgroups afterwards. ;)
3.Visgroups: If you don't know what they are,look them up in VHE help.
These keep things nice and neat, and it looks professional if you
visgroup your room with a name like room### when you have finished.
Also, it's a good way of showing what you've done, and where.
So kindly visgroup your precious work when done.
4.Temporary walls: These are brushes that use the texture "PICTURE0"
They are the only thing you have permission right now to delete!
Create these to show the next guy where to start.
For example, You might use them to block off an uncompleted hallway.
Put them in their very own visgroup called "Temporary walls",
so we can find them easily. -VISGROUP!
-Remember this: aaatrigger is for ENTITIES ONLY! Grrr...

5.NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS: Any brush or entity that causes an error is
likely to be DELETED by the next guy, permission or not, if it
irritates them too much. Don't want your work deleted? Simple. Make
sure it works! IF, hypothetically, you DO delete somebody's work,
CONFESS you misconduct below, and you might be shown mercy.
They know what they put there... You can't hide forever...
6.Stealing/"Borrowing": It's ok to re-use objects other people have
made WITHIN THE TWHLMIX MAP COLLECTION. For example, I have included
some nice flaming torches, and it would simply look better if the
next guy just used those, instead of bothering to invent some random
new ones. HOWEVER? Dragging without permission somebody's precious
prefabs into YOUR OWN HLDM, MOD, or whatever, I can only describe as
SICK. I detest the thought of anyone who dares attempt it.
But of course, I needn't worry at TWHL ;)
?KEEP UP THE HIGH STANDARDS, people!
7.Changelevels: If "twhlmix" gets a bit full, a changelevel would be a
good idea. The next map should be called "twhlmixa", and then
"twhlmixb", etc etc. ?in true mapping tradition. OR if you want to
add an entire map(s) for yourself (:D), make sure the change levels
for the START AND END work SEAMLESSLY! ?and include the last
"transition hallway" in a new "twhlmix#" for the next guy. One other
thing? try not to overlap locations so seems like the next map turns
around and plows right through the same place the last one was,
'cause that's just weird.
8.Wads: For simplicity, we will ONLY be using textures from:
Halflife.wad, Xeno.wad, and decals.wad, which everybody has.
-But that's still no excuse to go and make a xen map!
9.rad file: for texture lighting, add ANY texture lights you use to
this file. -acceptable "light" textures ONLY, please.
10.Themes: Stuck for ideas? Build on the guy before you! That way the
rooms will blend nicely, and the whole thing will look MUCH better!
?But, if inspiration hits: at least make the transition
semi-believable, ok? A teleport sprite even?
11.Last but not least: Make a nice contribution, please. It doesn't
matter if you're a n00b or 1337, Nobody's perfect.
Just do your best?. so you can look back and say "Yep, I helped out
with that, and I'm glad I did."
