NineThine, you're just as guilty.
Do you guys think its possible to read someones mind?
Absolutely. But only if we are able to understand how thoughts work at the chemical level.

Fuck everyone who who resorted to attacking. Way to go all gung ho. Again.

It's been the same users doing this for years now. Grow the fuck up already and address such topics like a civilized human fucking being or stay out. Or even better yet, try steering the discussion in another direction.

Technically speaking, visible light is only called visible light/color because we have the biological equipment to interpret that narrow sliver of the spectrum. My point was that if we could interpret a wider range of the spectrum, it would still be other colors -- which pretty much goes without saying but is fun to consider nonetheless.

Well the color thing is interesting in that you cannot possibly imagine a color that does not exist by mixing colors you have seen.
Maybe I'm missing your point, but there are "colors" that exist that we don't see. Ultraviolet and infrared are just that, practically speaking.
But really "color" is just the result of the brain interpreting a very small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Fun fact to those who don't know: gammas rays, radio waves, and light are all literally the same thing.
But I'm probably missing your point.

Whether or not we physically exist isn't nearly as interesting as the mindboggling nature of sentience. We can think. We can think about thinking. And that's incredible. IMHO
To our simple human minds, what else could there be outside if not space and time?
The human mind is not a simple thing. I know you want to be all "humans are stupid because look at war and hate and murder and blah blah blah," but for an object the size of two soda cans to be capable of metacognition - at all - is nothing short of miraculous.

To understand the exact nature of the entirety of everything is no easy task, especially because we're outright incapable of just observing everything directly. Consider dark matter, for example.

Be careful about what you're thinking in threads like this. Don't ever expect answers to your questions, because your questions are probably unanswerable (much less by people like us who haven't really studied anything). They're better suited for mind-expanding exercises. Also, that's like 4 edits since my original post.

Final edit: By the way, Zeeba, matter is a very dense form of energy. Not sure if you already knew that, but I'm just throwing it out there. Madcow is also right, our understanding of physics breaks down at the quantum level, so to reach a conclusion by continuously halving things is inherently flawed.

There's no direct way for a map to check whether a player has placed a tripmine on a wall, much less on a specific wall, but there's ways to work around it depending on how complex your walls are.

If your area is pretty much a flat wall, you can try using a very thin, invisible func_train that constantly sweeps the wall, thus destroying any tripmines on it. Put a clip brush in front of the train to prevent the player from hitting it.
This will work with any wall structure that is consistent from one end to the other. So it doesn't necessarily have to be perfectly flat.
User posted image
If hitting the tripmine with a train still doesn't work, using a train to cross the tripmine's laser definitely will (remember On a Rail?). Your train will just have to be further from the wall and thus more obvious to the player.

I just recently started playing League of Legends. God help me, I used to hate everything about DOTA. Amnesia has also been put on the backburner because of this.

Tristana is my champion of choice right now. She can rocket jump. In an RTS style game. And that's awesome.

/list is an admin command. You can't use it in single player and you can't use it in multiplayer if some other admin hasn't made you an admin.

Seeding the world with "minecraft", not capitalized, gives the best world I think I've seen yet. There's lots of wide plains and deserts that are broken up by some astounding mountains. One mountain to the right of spawn overlooks an amazing gorge.
Capitalizing the m creates some bullshit tundra world.

I've been playing Amnesia lately.

Gotta say, it's pretty intense to sit in the dark and hear shuffling footsteps directly behind me, all while knowing that it's dangerous to turn around and hoping that it just keeps on walking.
Don't even get me started on the water.

The darkness is surprisingly safe, though. The effects on your sanity are virtually negligible.

I was playing around with RPG Maker 2000 around his age, no need to be so critical.

At least humor him if you can't encourage him. It doesn't hurt anybody.

Though, Dimbark, you might have trouble finding a team for this. Maybe you'd be better off working by yourself on something smaller scale.

I paid $20 bucks for this, and now its free?!?!?! wtf, I want my fucking money back. And I'm not the only one.
I sort of thought the same thing, but this actually happened back when TF2 was lowered to 5 bucks.

The cost of the "premium" game hasn't changed, since you have to put a minimum of $5 in your Steam wallet to use it. Either way, you're shelling out $5 to play with a "premium" account.

Never. Never ever ever ever ever release a map with no sound. Even the buzzing of a fluorescent light livens up a quiet room.

It works fine as far as I know.

Edit: After looking at 2fort, I see a lot of spotlights that don't actually line up with the light prop. Most of them are also pointed away from the wall. I'm going to try that and see what happens.

Jews were blamed by the Nazi party for aiding the declining economy when they came to Germany en masse to open up private businesses during the post WWI recession, among several political misconceptions that I don't pretend to understand. Hitler came much later.
