We averaged about 12 people during both winter and spring.
Id say that is good for the size that we are, AJ is right having 2 tourneys will cut down numbers and it becomes a really annoying 3v3, 4v4 situation which gets old really fast.

Running a 24 hour one is also not really an option since most of the time the server will be empty. We just have to find a sweet spot for everyone to be available.

Well if everyone posts a time that they are free for the next 4 hours we can work out a convenient time for everyone

Just gave it a shot and after a first glance the mapping is amazing. Nice use of the light gameplay with turrets and zombies. QR codes are not a bad idea either

So far did not see any bugs or anything that would impact gameplay. Have not played a proper mod like this since R&D years ago.

However the fps is quite low, could be because of my laptop. Though in CS:GO i get 70-100 fps and here im sitting at 20-30.

Sound could use some work, especially in the beginning, does not relay ambiance and it feels like everything is happening right next to you.

But all that said great job, the attention to detail is amazing to say the least.

Just had to walk home like 5 km UP HILL and the tourney system is half finished oh bloody hell help me god

This csgo server is really getting up my nerves, can't even change map sometimes. There might be some weird issues, like clients not loading the map don't hesitate to reconnect in this case.

No one ever told me to change it so i kinda assumed its okay, i will bring this to attention next time. For now, well it will have to do.

The TWHL Spring CUP 2015

Tournament will be held at: 82.135.236.6 this time the server is in LTU so your pings might be higher than last time, source servers need more resources and there are few UK providers that have reasonable prices. However i assure you the link is the best you could probably get in this country.

Rules:
This is a drop in drop out tourney, meaning you can come in, play for a while, leave, come back play some more etc...
Each kill you score will grant you 1 ticket, with some new modifiers this time such as:
-AWP kills grant you 1 ticket
-Autosniper kills grant you 0 tickets
-Knife kills grant you 3 tickets
-Bomb defusal grants you 2 tickets
-Very special combo modifier worth 100 tickets

Tournament is for everyone, though only TWHL members are competing for prizes. Winners will be drawn randomly at the end of the tourney, more tickets give you more chances to win.

Prizes:
1. 20£ from Archie
2. 25$ Steam games from Captain Terror
3. 10€ from TJB

Map list:
Ive gathered maps from the VAULT as well as some from the Steam Workshop.
Each map will last 30 minutes, though if problems arise they could be shortened or skipped. The whole rotation should last 4,5 hours.

I might get the server up this weekend, it will be at my workplace so ping will be higher, but not too much.
Looking into google's virtual servers, maybe that will be a good option for next time.

Still can't wrap my head around it. Just not a thing i recommend to a beginner.

All of which are hard for a new programmer.

Then javascript is what you want. There are awesome tools made with js these days, three.js (for 3d graphics) angular.js (one page applications) and many more.

PB is right start off with high level languages.
If you are going to go the JS route also take a look at node.js which will allow you to run JS code in a command line on a pc instead of a browser which is sometimes useful.
Im not sure how people feel about PHP, but that is how i started, very easy to get into C oriented language, not strict meaning you can reuse the same variable for many types of data it can contain (what ive found that strict languages are very frustrating for new people).

Then there is Python, the only thing i know and what i like about it, is it teaches how to ident your code properly.
