Be a lame ass but Jimmi aint half bad and actually makes TWHL exciting...true, and I agree... kinda. A little spam here and there, maybe even 2 accounts, isn't so bad. But 10 accounts, pretending to be moderators, spamming everything... ban him. He's been "yelled" at about this before, hasn't he?
You only read the tutorialwtf? "the tutorial"? You mean the tutorial on making textures? yes, i've read that, and I do know how to make textures, and compile a map using a custom wad file, because i've done it (not in any of my posted maps, I don't think.)
Anyway, knowing a little C is fine for little adjustments like changing HUD colors and positions and other small changes, but adding new monsters gets harder. Some basic understanding of classes and inheritance would be good if you're planning to do anything more complex.well, right now, anything I do will simply be to learn how to code in C. I'm a die-hard QB fan, but I've been wanting to learn C for a while. Anyway, I know that it will be a while before i'm capable of doing any major modifications, but a little change in the hud could be nice. Thanks for the suggestions.
Also, I'd recommend looking at what changes you want to make to the game before 'doing some coding'. It's no fun to throw away big plans when you find out certain things are too difficult to handle half-way down a project.
Good luck though.
What did you use to write it?I used qbasic. That was probably 2-3 years ago, but if you want the source, i'll try to find it. I might still have the hard drive. And what is notepad++? never heard of it.
Ive got some ideas for the 1st 3 chaptersthose ideas sound a little hl1-ish. you start by wandering around the lab, do a test on some thing, everything goes wrong, and you try to get out. If I can think of anything better, i'll post it.

with no limits what so everhmmm, I wonder if you could modify the hl engine (if you could get the source) to have fewer limits? After all, computers now are far better than they were when hl was introduced!
It is totally inappriate, offensive, and does not contribute to the forum.right on! for the sake of the rest of us, use email, we don't want to hear about your problems with homosexuality, racism, etc.
I surpose if you use it a lot you learn to avoid the problem befor it happens.yes! I use it all of the time, because it is "safe" as compared to carving. ex: every time I carve with a cylinder, I get sub-unit leaks!
it says short -- surfacesis that in the compiler output or in hl? I get that all the time in hl if I run it in software mode!
