Basement rats is a fine map, but due to some technical issues it would probably be better to remove it from the tourney.
De_dust_thunder has some fps lag issue and "stickyness", i.e., when traversing stairs and entering doorways, sometimes you are unable to move for a second or two, although I don't know how much is due to ping, high wpoply, and/or clipping issues.
I figure cs_ maps don't fly in tourneys, otherwise I'd suggest Omega Assault or even The Labyrinth. Got good reviews for them.I don't see why we couldn't have a few hostage rescue maps in the mix, Omega Assault would be a fantastic addition IMO

That sounds like the best idea. Hosting two separate tourneys seems a bit pointless, and it still doesn't help the Aussies
A 1.6 server would be awesome. If not that, maybe a Sven Coop server might be just the thing?

It was a pleasure looking through your map, you Sven guys are nuts!
Was able to find where the illegals were coming from, by randomly deleting stuff, compiling, and checking the log each time to see if the error messages were still there. luckily, they were all in the same place and the first place I looked

Was able to isolate the errors by deleting stuff, compiling, and then checking the log for the illegal brushes:
Green: brushes from one or more of the three cacti
Blue: brushes from the chopper.
Red: one brush from the tower radar array.
From there, you are going to have to track down the actual brushes causing the errors and rebuild them. When I remove the cacti, radar tower, and chopper, I get zero illegal brushes.
Another thing I noticed about your map is there are a lot of world brushes(solids) that should probably be func_detail, e.g., the tram track, light fixtures, props, furniture, all door trims and molding etc. Use Sledge's auto visgrouping to deselect brush entities, and you will see all the world solids I'm talking about

Yup, those transparent textures are super useful, and you're right: he could have used null, and toggled the hide null textures button in sledge

Playing CSDM on tight-layout maps like fy_snow and fy_pool_day is amazingsly fun, but after an hour or so it gets tedious. Maybe just appoint admins and change as needed, OR, keep it to classic imo
If you are looking for maps to include, definitely the ones above, and Kabul are keepers. Kabul isn't too big, imo, but hopefully we have a good turnout of course

I like that you added the option to have double click open the Texture Application window, but maybe instead of having the enitre object's faces selected, have just the face you double clicked on, OR, add it as yet another togglable option to what the user prefers. It's an extra click of the mouse, not a big deal!

I looked at it quickly and could not find the cause of the illegal brushes, but I will check it out again later. I'm sure I have this error cataloged in my error log, but I don't have access to it atm. there is surprisingly nothing in Tommy's error table about this one!

Please allow for some love for Eastern US... I'm not a good player to begin with, so if I'm lagging it's gonna be plain painful
HLFix does not create errors, and any problems people have with it are due to setting it up wrong, which CAN be a pita. I would recommend using Sledge to compile your maps if you aren't already, which handles floating point vertices perfectly by default

I checked and Stu is correct, it shouldn't look fullbright like that. Make sure also you're using solid/255 for the render settings
There is no way around this afaik. You COULD clip out the opaque parts of that railing and render it normally, or maybe raise the lighting so the problem is less noticeable?

I'm having some fun practicing for the tourney. The only thing that's hard to get used to is you can shoot through every wall, so there is a lot of wallspamming to adjust to

I work for a small production company as a carpenter, which entails very basic framing and finishing work mostly using wood, but we use everything from plexiglass to structural steel. Once in a while we have projects that require pneumatics, microcontrollers, running wire/audio, and other cool shit. Sometimes we get to do install work across the country, or even abroad.
Experience needed: None really. Electronics knowledge is always helpful. I would not recommend a job like this unless you enjoy it.
Besides that, I've done every shit job you can imagine. Probably the most fun was working as night desk clerk at a full-service hotel, summers/weekends during college.. Got to see a lot of crazy stuff, like keying into a room--because of noise complaints--, and a literal gangbang is going on... just one example ;P

De_space would be a blast, Tet! De_twhl2011 is a very clean/pretty map, though the gameplay is a bit meh from what I remember.

Perhaps Sledge automatically shows me all of the wad files in Half-Life?Yes it does
Whitelist only the wads you want, at least that's what I do. Compiling with Sledge should wadinclude ONLY the textures you've used in your map by default.
Wadinclude may only work in FINAL/ADVANCED compiles, I'm not 100% sure, but definitely use one of those for a final release of your map
Vissova: I've never tried multiple configs, but try making sure your new WADs are in the valve folder. If all else fails, edit a current, working config for you new game for the time being.

It has advantages and disadvantages imo. If I had it to do over again, I would have stuck with the default movement keys back when I started playing CS, since every game defaults to WSAD for movement...
