I think you wrote wrong in 'game directory' valve, starts with capital VWindows filesystems are always case-insensitive.
"Cause of Death" and "The Discombobulator" give, unsuprisingly, lots of unrelated results.
I'd suggest you ask about this on the NS forums. There're probably guides on the official site and such. I haven't seen any NS mappers here for a long time.
Why spend under budget? You've got fifteen left, push it a bit and go for a better processor.

I'd hardly say Wikipedia proves something like that, when the presumably-synonymous (equal) term "full screen ~" appears more popular. Could easily be that whoever put that short bit up thought it was 'scene' too.

Incidentally, I think you will find that the word is "you". Really, it takes, what, a quarter of a second to type "yo"?

I'm upgrading to pretty similar stuff to everybody else, probably just before I go to uni. S939 Athlon64, good DDR400, and a GeForce 6800. Ant's gettin'/has got/will get something similar. Everybody seems to recommend the setup, myself included :).
If you're not very experienced in hardware stuff, be warned, though: don't take anything for granted. Make sure everything's right. There're lots of friendly techies to help.

It's full-screen, you know :P. Does make a hefty difference, too, as does resolution. I have a TFT, so I pretty much have to run everything at 1280x1024, as do a lot of people. A 1.4GHz x86 CPU is probably below-average for modern FPS gamers.

You'd probably be better off building it yourself from new, and ?400 isn't enough for "a really good graphics card", a gig of decent RAM, a good processor, a motherboard, and, presumably, new drives, etc.? What's your existing PC, exactly?
