It cannot change.
Technically with enough persuasion, anything can change. It is us that decides which rules to follow afterall.

I'm not disagreeing with you though by any means though.. there's a 0.0000000000000000001*10^-fucktonne percent chance in which that would happen.

At the same time, what he mentioned was obviously an exaggeration.

He'll need to be able to account for numbers greater than 10 before he can map.. and by then he'll probably be hooked on videogames already.

I really dont think it'll be a problem ;o

The bond personal developement plot was there, but personally I didn't enjoy it because the scheme of the bad guys was pretty weak.

Also, I cant picture any way an organization as omni-potent as the one in the movie could get to be the way they are without at least someone outside of them knowing about it. People are too untrustworthy.

And that all happens just so Greene there can sell water. Whipee -_-

That is a very nice writeup though, yes ;o

The push usually has to be on a pretty jacked up number. Also.. note that the push entity has to be 'through' the physboxes center of gravity.

If you have doubts, just cover the entire thing with the push brush.

(I forgot to mention that :/)

Well, func_pushes dont work exactly like a thruster. You cant just change it to a push and have it still work. Make sure it still activates and deactivates the push based on the outputs that are specific to the pushes and not the thruster.

If you still cant get it to work, gimme a screenie of your output window that's not working.

The lighting doesn't do it justice, but here's my tank-

You can parent the pushes to a full set vehicle. You just make sure the push brushes overlap your vehicle, and it will push it while moving with it. (Man, defying the laws of physics rules)

It's still a tad jumpy, but thats the way that physics system is unfortunately -_-.

The only way to build a completely stable vehicle, although it has the least functionality, is to base the vehicle off of a tracktrain grid. It can be pretty haxy too depending on how you set it up (Ghost vehicle that goes through walls).

On that note, I wish valve would code in a garrys mod style entity version of the hover ball. Also, I want phys_hinges and ballsockets that can be parented. Then you could make vehicles with ease -_-

If you're wondering 'how' to control them, look at my game_ui and logic_compare tutorial.

http://www.twhl.co.za/tutorial.php?id=125

It doesn't tell you how to make a vehicle directly, but it'll show you the way to control them.

I have made a tank before. I used func_pushes over the thrusters though, they're more predictable.

I figured it out through crap-tonnes of experimenting. It's hard I guess, but it's fun and rewarding when you get it done.

Ill get screenies of a new tank I was working on when I get home. It moves, but it doesn't fire yet :(

Right on Satch, heh. My aunt is the same way. She's on call a buttload, and she wouldn't have a social life at all without a cell phone.

I tend to not use my cell phone when I dont have to.

When I need to call someone, I do. When I call and noone answers, I leave a text asking or saying something directed at them. That's it really.

Ill also admit it's great for organization/coordination in terms of meeting up with people

As cliche as it sounds, TWHL has helped me in terms of a lot. I'm basing my future off of what i've learned here.

Mapping has led me onto various trains of insight and developement. In general it helps you develope a sense of logic, it helps develope your spacial awareness, and also your artistic mind. It doesn't stop there either. It's the reason i'm as computer 'savy' as I am. It's also decided what i'm going to persue at uni when I graduate this year.

I cant imagine what kind of person I would be had TWHL not pushed me where I am.

Video games are very influential and inspiring if you've come at it like I have.

It's only the dumbass mindless assholes that scream at their televisions all night that wont go anywhere.

1. You should be able to put your VTF (apc01blue.vtf) in \Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\seminara\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2\materials\Models\Combine_apc

2. Only throw your VTF in there

There is no way to create a GCF.

But to answer your question... If you hunt out the file structure of the GCF, but in the half-life 2 folders instead, and you put your VTF's there, it will replace the ones in the GCF. You might have to create a few folders.

A files that exists in the folders get chosen at run-time over the files that exist in the GCF's. You just need to make sure that your VTF has the exact same name and directory path as the VTF in the GCF that you're replacing.

Once you dont want to see it anymore, you just delete/move your VTF's and the ones from the GCF will take over.

Maybe shake for short lived earthquakes <3

impulse_83 for a transportation option (airboat) all the time!

Gene Gray style telekinesis, but without that dual personality psycobitch stuff from the movie.

If I had full and complete control over it, that would be kickass. There are tons of small practical uses too.

Not only would you be able to fly, but you could do anything you wanted without any chance of opposition <3.

You could change the states of matter too if you controlled the movement of matter, so you could have some fun with water. Ice spikes, Ice prisons, suck in some water to drink if you're ever stranded in a desert. You could even give someone third degree burns at will if the occasion called for it, heh.

Any substance could do that really, I guess some just might be more 'warm' than others in liquid form.

Evaporated airborn iron ftw.

Theoretically you could focus open air light into lasers too.

I will bet you that just as easily you can use a finger, you can also use a fine pointer pen, similar to the one the Nintendo DS & most PDA's use, that will resolve the "blunt" issue
Let's just hope it's not on the same vertical surface, because that would be inconvenient. :/
As for the accuracy problem, no different from what you can do in a graphics editor like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, just zoom in closer to the area of the model you want to work on, and your accuracy will improve, you will have more control of the area as far as details are concerned.
Constant zooming in and out would be rather annoying. Using that two finger gesture over and over would surely lead to carpal tunnel, hehe.

Actually, I dont think it will hit off that well in terms of 3D modeling. The blunt quality of people's fingers disables the user from being able to put something exactly where they need to. It lacks accuracy.
