I've neither mapped nor played any HL games for quite a long time. I play CS:S every week or so for a few hours with a friend, usually. I might enter the next competition if it's an HL1 one :).

THINK BEFORE YOU POST AND YOU WON'T NEED TO DOUBLE-POST!

Do you mean, my shortening of m0p, Ant, and Rabid's names to their modern selves? Simple database manipulation, why? I'm not making a habit of it, but they've all been here a long time and their forum names were a bit long. This way, all the forum mods fit on one line on the forum listing page, too :).

Yeah, but should we really have to re-tell everyone who comes through about ZHLT? If we weren't bothered about stuff like that, we wouldn't have any tutorials.

To-do list so far:

[quote]General
New smilies in journals;
More special login messages;
PMs;
Seperate HL/Source tutorials;
News archives;
Proper tutorial proposal system linked to special forum;
Journal limiting (forbidding journal posts in quick succession).

Forums
Allow editing of most recent post to topic if yours;
Icon for closed threads;
Previewing;
Stickies;

'Vault
Only allow votes with comment, from logged-in users;
One vote/user;
No voting for own maps;
No rating for Problem or Example maps;
Require screenshot and description for "completed";
"Mod" text field in Map Info (for clarity and modicon "Other").

Modding
Journal modding;
MV comment modding (by MV permissions, !forum ~).

I like the orange. I have considered implementing something I proposed to atom a long time ago, user selection of colour themes. Wouldn't be very hard, just loading different sets of images and a different CSS page.

Actually, I think I'll make it so you can edit a post if it has no replies after it. I can't see any problems that way. Previewing will be sorted too, though.

You will only be able to vote for any map once in the 'Vault/user, and must leave a comment with a vote. I'll make sure people don't make stupid 'asasast'-style comments just to spam votes.

Colour coding... change what?

I'd also thought of a forum/section called "Mapper Tips" myself a few days ago :). I mean, there doesn't even seem to be anywhere where newbies are told to use ZHLT, just links to it!
I like the tutorial award
I thought, and Ant and Rabid agreed, that people deserved at least as much recognition for writing a good tutorial as for being helpful in the forums or MV.

What for?

I'm going to print the mod name in the map description if that's what you mean (the green "S" for Spirit isn't entirely self-explanatory) and I'm going to add an extra field for where people've specified "Other" as the mod icon.

Use a func_wall_toggle to cover the button, or a master. If the former, you might want a func_illusionary when the wall's 'off', and to then hide the _illusionary when it's 'on' (to stop nasty in-same-plane flickering).

Try looking along the line specified on the X and Y axes. Maybe it just got one co-ordinate completely messed (so look up/down from that co-ord. without going along, and vice-versa).

256k upstream would be perfectly acceptable for serving two or three users simultaneously. Actual web content, though, would be noticably poor for 'downloading files' (sending binary data like music or programs).

a) You mean you don't want any stereo effect? I think you're screwed there. You could always have three in a triangle, that might neutralise the effect reasonably.

b) You'll have to be making a mod and empty the logon wave file, then. Well, that or Spirit.

Well, you must be able to see the cliffs, obviously, and you must have a tram stop and tracks. Have to wait for Kasperg's decision on whether the tram has to be there or move.
