No, he's been on the beach before. I think the first time was when he was six months old.

But he's really fearless. If we weren't retraining him, he would run straight into the ocean.

Finally, scientists have proven that certain types of games can be part of an active lifestyle.
PEDIATRICS Vol. 124 No. 2 August 2009, pp. 534-540

OBJECTIVE: To compare energy expenditure rates in children playing the physically active video games, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Nintendo's Wii Sports in relation to treadmill walking.

METHODS: Energy expenditure, heart rate, step rate, and perceived exertion were measured in 14 boys and 9 girls (ages 10?13 years; BMI at 3?98th percentile for age and gender) while watching television at rest, playing DDR at 2 skill levels, playing Wii bowling and boxing, and walking at 2.6, 4.2, and 5.7 km/h. Arterial elasticity was measured at rest and immediately after gaming.

RESULTS: Compared with watching television, energy expenditure while gaming or walking increased 2- to 3-fold. Similarly, high rates of energy expenditure, heart rate, and perceived exertion were elicited from playing Wii boxing, DDR level 2, or walking at 5.7 km/h. This occurred despite variations in step rate among activities, reflecting greater use of upper body during Wii play (lowest step rate) than during walking (highest step rate) or DDR play. Wii bowling and beginner level DDR elicited a 2-fold increase in energy expenditure compared to television watching. Large-artery elasticity declined immediately after both DDR and Wii. The change was inversely related to the increment in energy expenditure above rest achieved during the activity.

CONCLUSIONS: Energy expenditure during active video game play is comparable to moderate-intensity walking. Thus, for children who spend considerable time playing electronic screen games for entertainment, physically active games seem to be a safe, fun, and valuable means of promoting energy expenditure.

I am aware that I am just a Google fanboy, but I think I like Google for a reason (or many reasons).

Having a large market share currently really has no meaning. Just look at Wordperfect and Netscape. They used to dominate the word processing arena and the browser, respectively.

Where are they now?

It's possible to make innovative shooters.

The original Half-Life has some of the best level design out there.

Half-Life 2, as mentioned before, incorporates physics into the gameplay. That's never been done before.

Far Cry 2 has the most non-linear gameplay of any game.

Mass Effect has the best story of any shooters.

They're all innovative.

There are plenty of smart people out there, and someone will come up with a clever idea that changes things significantly.

He knew that the Blue Scout was compromised because he's being black-mailed. So obviously the Blue Scout is most likely the Red Spy.

Does that mean the Blue Spy is stupid? How did he end up with those photos anyway?

Hey, I like the drilling small holes for oxygen idea the best.

However, I don't know how banks usually build their vaults. I would think that it's thick metal all around.

I would kill the two oldest people first, since their lives aren't as valuable as the younger ones.

But I wouldn't start killing until someone actually passed out from lack of oxygen.

Seriously, where do you get this stuff from?
From my twisted head.

I stay up at night thinking up doomsday scenarios.

Perhaps that's why I am tired in the morning.

The bomb squad already knows about the oxygen deprivation and the time constraint. That's how you learned about the dilemma.

If they blow the door open, everyone dies. They have to open the door through a series of small and controlled explosions at the door's hinges.

Unfortunately, you and your entire family were in a local bank when a group of bank robbers took over the bank.

Three of the four robbers escaped with their loot, but the fourth one was abandoned after he was shot in the thigh by the security guard.

He subsequently shot the security guard in the bank vault and took your family and another family as hostage, and locked the vault door.

You and one of the parents from the other family managed to overcome the wounded robber and shot him in the head.

From the police radio of the security guard, you learned that it would take the bomb squad four hours to blast open the vault door.

The oxygen inside the vault can only support everyone inside for two hours.

What would you do?
