Man. I had to keep my composure this afternoon when a fifteen year old girl was confessing to me that she's getting oral sex from two guys. I kept my cool and kept a straight face (as much as possible) and counseled her on STD and contraception.

I know I am suppose to be detached and objective as a doctor, but we are only human.

I did have a heck of a day last Friday at work. Everyone seems to be breaking their bones and having pneumonia.

I am not criticizing Lep for his lack of effort. If anything, he puts in a tremendous amount of work to keep the site running and bug-free.

But he has gotta do a better job at picking server hosts.

Did you know Friday the 13th was originally labeled bad luck because of the Knight's Templers? If anyone has read "The Da Vinci Code", you'll know what I'm talking about. It's the date when the secret society was almost wiped out (like the massacar for the Jedi knights by the Sith) in the Middle Ages.

Threads like this appear because this is one of the few ways that I can keep up with the latest at the SnarkPit error/trouble. Obviously, I wouldn't even know if it's up or changed URL again except for posts like these.

Maybe it'll be www.snarkpit.edu this time? Who knows.

Yeah, but these small aesthetic flaws never interfere with the gameplay (unlike the multitude of gameplay bugs in Far Cry).

If you look closely enough in Ravenholm, you can spot many examples of overlapping textures (most commonly with static models/brush interface).

But again, it doesn't detract from the beauty of the game.

What's the context for the lyrics? Was it written before HL2? If so, it's surprisingly fitting to the HL2 story.
Crowded streets are cleared away
One by One
Hollow heroes separate
As they run

You're so cold
Keep your hand in mine
Wise men wonder while
Strong men die

[Chorus]

Show me how it ends it's alright
Show me how defenseless you really are
satisfied and empty inside
That's alright, let's give this another try

If you find your family, don't you cry
In this land of make-believe, dead and dry

You're so cold, but you feel alive
Lay your hands on me one last time

[Chorus x2]

It's alright [x9]

I downloaded and saved it. I watched it half a dozen times already.

I actually like the music, even though I am not a heavy metal fan. It kinda reminds me of Evanescence, and I like that song from the soundtrack of "Dare Devil" (Bring Me to Life).

I am working now, and the song is just stuck in my head now. I just hope I don't accidentally whistle it at work.

I wish it has more clips of Dog throwing things. But my favorite part of the video is the beginning and towards the end, where you see all the rebel fighters aiming their weapons and watching apprehensively. Great camera work!

And the last fraction of a second in the video, it says something like "Rise and Shine" and something else. I tried reading it by slowing the framerates down, but I still couldn't catch the full message.

Site is up again .

"I am Still Seeing Breen" is a music video made entirely from the Source engine. It's an awesome video. It has captured the best of HL2, and the direction incorporates into the soundtrack seamlessly.

It's a relatively large download. So it'll take a long time if you don't have broadband. It's still worth the wait.

What if you use the same trigger to have the output to induce an env_explosion to break the func_breakable first, so the rappeling police can go through?

15fps is not smooth
Seventh is right. You don't even know what you're missing and the sweetness of 110 fps unless you've played HL2 on a good machine.

I thought I had it good when I played HL2 on my Celeron/Radeon 9200 with 512 MB of RAM. But now I'm playing it again on my new rig, and I can't imagine going back to anything below 50 fps anymore.

For the armory, I used stealth. I prefer this style because I try to imagine myself as the player in a realistic situation. In real life, I don't like to get hit by bullets, so I typically go through the entire level without getting hit once.

I hid in the jungle surrounding the armory, and I used my sniper rifle to snuff out all the snipers in the towers. Then I used the binocular to spot each one of the mercs and kill them one by one, moving slowly around the perimeter, camouflaging in the bushes.

They die without even knowing what hit them!
