So I know this is noob, but thats because I am to mapping. I cant find any prefabs from hammer. Do any come with it? How do I do "it".

Is there a way to select one side of a shader, so you can give it a texture, and the opposite side a different texture? i.e. Using the roof of one room as the floor of another one above it. THanks much.

Ah ok. Thanks you much! The problem was that I had accidentally set the surrounding walls a a detail_entity.....that fixed the problem. Thanks much 
I follow the set up and In the start tutroials with Hammer, but when I try to run a simple one room map, it loads up into CS:S but then immediatly quits and gives me a "no plane map" error. Not sure how to fix it. As well, in my 3D window, it is not rendered, it is only outlined green, how can I render this window? Help appreciated. Thanks.
