Hi guys,

I haven't mapped for half-life for quite a while. If I would be joining this competition, can I use Blender to map? 'Coz I found out that it can export .blend files to .map files.

(I'm still not sure if i'm joining)

So, let me sum it up (correct me if i'm wrong)

Let's say that Tower A is the target tower to be destroyed. The door, and other features have a master. Once it is triggered by the tank in Tower B it disables Tower A. But since it activated a multi_manager too, it triggered the master again and enables Tower A. Then the process can be repeatable. For the target for the tanks and as the trigger for the master, i'll still think about it. And another thing, in this scenario what is the best master to use?

HOW TO SET THIS UP?

Well, I'm back again here to ask more questions. I'll just go straight to the scenarios. This is for my Dm_combo map.

[u]Scenario 1:[/u]

Objective:
I want to make the building and some of its features (like tank, doors, internal buttons,etc) to be disabled or destroyed when a tank from another fort hits a cetain part of whole of the building (maybe a button target or a button with a health??)

Here are my entities:

-A func_tank from the opposing building
-A button_target or a func_button with health for the tank's target.
-And when the target was hit, it disables the building. But after a certain amount of time (2 mins perhaps) the building can be operational again (doors restored, tanks again usable, etc)

So, can this be done? If yes, please reply.
Also notify me if you don't understand.

According to Muzz, instead of using null texture use the bevel instead. It worked for me. Give it a try...

What kinds of FGD's do you recommend? Because I am starting to map for CS.
So I was ask you guys who had experience. Please type as many as you want. Just tell me the best ones to use for mapping. If you're lazy, no need to put in links ill just search. Otherwise, type it in.

O yeah i forgot...What i want is everything is visible. So i want to achieve the same effect with out the use of func_wall_toggle. Everything is supposed to be visible; not invisible.

Thanks. Now i will try it and see if it works.

EDIT: I got the effect, im satisfied, it was very close to what i want.
Scenario:
There is an escalator going up when i reach the end/top i cant go back to that same elevator. Then there is another player that wants to go up. So the player went up and did the same thing. But when he is still going up i cant even go through the other way opposite to the escalator.

Like:

P1 -> Escalator ->
Escalator |<- P1 (cannot pass through)
P2 > Escalator |< P1
Escalator | <-(P1,P2) (both cannot pass)
(P1,P2) -> Escalator ->

:( I am trying to fins the sounds for the weapons for half-life 1. I extracted the files in the pak0.pak file and didnt find it. I there was a mistake or my pak has a problem, yeah plz help me.

Hey guys??...
I see in some maps that when you put a crate to block a laser/beam, it blocks the beam. Like there's a beam going from one direction to the other the you put a crate to its path iits either the laser will destroy the crate or the laser will just stop to the face of the crate. I know this is simple, but i dunno how to do it

So, do some of you guy know how?
If you know please help me.

Random "Map from the Vault" Generator suggestion:

Well for some people that are bored and want to play something, the random map vault generator (let's call it " RMVG ") will generate a random map from the map vault and a link to the page. It can also generate as many maps a s you like. Just make it sure that the number will not exceed the amount of maps in the vault.

Hope you like it mods (especially Penguinboy.).

EDIT: Bug Reports...

1) When i try to generate a map an load it i get an error: Texture axis perpendicular to face. But anyway its "fixable"

2) its just actually a complaint. Why are spheres only for source? :\
