I've tried looking around on the forums to get an answer for this but no luck so I'll just ask myself. Is there anyway to give a func_train working windows and doors? I've built a pretty detailed train with sliding func_doors, func_walls for windows, func_details for furniture and want to have the train pull into the station at the beginning of my map. Is there any way to tie all of these into a single train? Like, can I have these door brushes move along the path with everything else and then open?

Hey all, very new to Source mapping so apologies if this is like a well known thing and it's actually incredibly easy to fix. Tried searching here and on google and it doesn't seem like anyone else has a fix for this.

Wanted to make a city map for GMod but when I copy-paste brushes the new copy has a checkerboard slightly overlaid on top of it. This doesn't show up in-game and doesn't seem to have any effect in-editor either but it is bugging me so, does anyone know why this happens?

Adding to this, just managed to load the .map file, it was the .jmf file that was giving me the error and seems to be corrupted/broken/whatever

Hello all, I just tried to load up a map I've been working on but J.A.C.K gives me a "bad file header" error when trying to load (none of my other maps give this error). Does anyone know of a fix for this and why it happens? Would be much appreciated :/

I believe i have found the solution! I suddenly had a realisation, it may not be working because I'm on macOS [don't hate me, can't afford a PC rn :')] so i looked up "half-life mods mac" and boom, all you need to do it point the mod's liblist.gam file to the macOS .dlls. Some mods have this by default which is why I was confused as why some were working and some weren't :0

Hey all, not a question about my own mod but about someone else's, or rather many someone else's...'s. Hope this isn't against the thread rules or anything.

A lot of HL1 mods I have been installing recently can't load into a map at all. The first attempt at loading fails and gives me this error in the console:

"Host_Error: Couldn't get DLL API from !"

And if I try a second time the game crashes.

Anyone have any fixes? I've tried searching on Google but have found nothing that works. Before you ask, yes I have tried verifying the game files on Steam and unfortunately, nothing. I also tried replacing the mod's .dll files with the ones from the default "valve" folder but still nothing.

Okay so now I type in the brush number and it brings me to a fairly big ceiling brush. Any explanation to why this didn't happen before?

(BTW yes I deleted it and now the map works, thanks people)

I deleted that entity but now it's saying one of my multi_managers causes a leak. When I go to the coordinates mentioned in the compile log I end up somewhere completely different.

And before you ask, I have tried both pointfiles. They led to a leak, I fixed it, got the exact same error.

I exported them all twice using GIMP with RLE compression but the error still shows up in console.

So I need to make a custom skybox for a mod I'm working on. Apparently you're supposed to use something called Terragen but it's way too complicated for me and the tutorials I read were for a much older version so they were no help. So I went the silly route and pasted the textures I wanted for the sky into MS Paint and saved them in HL/valve/gfx as 256x256 bitmaps and then saved them again as .tga files (before anyone asks, yes I did all the required angles: bk, rt, fr, etc.). Then I went to hammer and made a cube, textured it with "sky", hollowed it and created a platform. Then I went into map properties and put "ice" (the prefix for all my textures) in the sky section. But when I load the map in HL, the sky is one of the desert ones. Could somebody please tell what I'm missing/doing wrong?

I'm testing my map and I spawn correctly when I load the map from the console, but when I enter it through the previous map, I get instantly stuck in the ground. Anyone have an answer? I can't find any with google searches.

I looked all around my map (it's not that big) both in HL and in Hammer itself but there are no leaks at all. I've also checked for entities in the void but there are none and I haven't enclosed the map using a brush entity. Help would be appreciated.
