Is the compression better than JPG? If not, convert to JPG already!

7th, i can start up hammer or g-max in 2 seconds! im in battlefield up and running in a minute, and steam is also up and running in 30 secs. Though pacific fighters takes a little longer to load but that is deu to my graphic card not being the newest, but i wont overclock it because it will render my TrackIR 3 Pro useless.
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-05 04:54:20 UTC Post #101679
Thirty seconds to start Steam? That's poor :|.

Anthony, the Portable Network Graphics format is lossy differently (assuming it actually is lossy, I'm not sure). It's also non-proprietary, unlike GIFs, which it hopes to replace (since it can have low-colour images with transparency ? even true alpha channels like Targa).

It does, but the point is noone likes to look at geocities pages and their huge ads...But at least it isn't down 99% of the time like websamba. Could that BE anymore aliased?
Posted 19 years ago2005-04-05 10:49:57 UTC Post #101773
Good points:
  • Reasonable OS;
  • Delphi.
Bad points:
  • Hugely aliased (good term, Mephs ;));
  • Messy desktop (do you really need things like "CS manual" there?;
  • Loads of "shortcut to" and lacks of initial capitals :P;
  • Internet Exploiter (Opera, Firefox)
  • Tons of crappy stuff running in the background wasting your resources!

$52 for 1 channel, 2 channels. It's the fastest internet where I live (country place in VA) and I would die if I had dialup so I have ISDN.

AFAIK, the limit of the ADSL standard is 8mbit in the UK, although ISP's provide an ADSL connection at that speed currently :( In sweden they use VDSL for connections beyond the ADSL barrier of 8mbit to my knowledge. And I have 2mbit, so neeh. But what I really want is a Class 255 Optical Carrier (OC-255) which clocks in at a hefty 13gbit. Damn I wish I had the money for that!

He can get 10/10 and 26/26 pretty cheap.. But Swedish ISP's are going to put some VERY big limits for p2p-using and stuff.
In Finland you can get 10/10 for 50e/month.. My 2mb/512 cable costs 34e/month

m0p, you can, of course, bond dozens of connections to one gargantuan one. Have to have a phone line for each connection, though.

Mercenary: Changing name from .bmp to .jpg does not make it a jpg. You need to save as -> Jpeg. That bloody image is 3.8 mb. Also, stop using freewebs, it's shit.

After much hassle, I finally got into my m0px.net account (using good ol'e Internet Explorer ftp) and could upload this:
