How did your forum name or gaming name come about? I expect there will be a few interesting stories here so please tell..

I'll go first then, shall I?

The Hunter - Originally came about in the fantastic fps online shooter 'Star Trek Voyager : Elite Force' and the first time i got the boss at the end of the scavenger station who was a hirogen hunter, the name got stuck in my mind...
I'm 11 at the time, and here is this really cool, 8 foot tall guy with full tritanium armour from foot to nose, and then a damn cool helmet to match... And of course he has a massive muthafucka chaingun that blasts you to bits...
And that's where The Hunter came from.

Mine's just based on my real name. Some people call me Vassy in real life, but I'm normally Seb.

Mine are two completely random words that came into my head at least two years ago. I was Seventh-Hunter for an evening, then I thought of monkeys, as y'do.

most probably know where mine came from (especially seventh monkeh), its probably the most boring here!! : came from my school username back at william parker in the day jus stuck in my head cause i used it everyday so carryed on using it.

Mine was 99a3114 :). Couple of friends of mine had 3124 and 3134, and I think my best buddy's was 3141. I have a good memory for numbers.

Mine started back in '96.....I was NaNock, a name derived from the movie "The Lost Boys" The kids dogs name was Nanook....but that name was quickly stolen...so I changed it to odin...god of thunder.....just sounded cool, so I kept it.

Mine came from an herbal supplement called Horny Goat Weed. Some kind of aphrodisiac. Dont know if they sell it anymore. So I just took that and shortened it to HrnyGoat.

I don't actually use my real name for forums most of the time. TWHL is one of a very select few that have the privilege.

I use Ant292 most of the time, which came about after trying to register Ant29 on some forum. It was unavaliable, so I added an extra "2" and voila! It's actually the date of my B'day: 29th of February.

Mephs: I was reading a series of old magazines called Man Myth & Magic (prolly worth something on ebay now, they're from the 60s or 70s but I cut loads of pictures out of them, and ruined any value they might have had), from Mephistophiles, or Mephistopheles, the demon in Goethe's Dr Faustus, to whom said doctor sold his soul.

According to the article it might have been from Hebrew meaning something along the lines of 'he who does not like light'. I particularly liked his almost wolverine-esque haircut in one painting of it (I can't find the painting online, or I'd link).

Anyways, long story short, I wasn't sure which spelling to choose, and decided for brevity 'Mephs'.

I've had this nick for at least 6 or 7 years (back before the internet was popular, and you could trick almost any noob into installing Back Orifice etc)...aah, happy times.

I love reminiscing about ye olde internet days...

Daubster... Yea I remember how i got it.... I was in like 4th grade or 3rd.. I dont remember exactly, but we had to draw a portrait of a clasmate on Art... The teachers told us, who we'll have to draw. And just my luck - I had to draw the guy who was my "mortal enemie" (don't start lol-ing me, I was in 3rd or 4th grade after all ).
So I drew him very shittily on purpose. So the teacher in front of all the class said "What kinda daub did ya give me here?" So all the klids started 2 call me daubster... That kinda fit me... All i had to do is to do is to transilate the word into english... And there i had it.. Daubster... TA-DAA

My name started when i was tying to come up whith acool name on cs... Making You Red became my name... but then when i joined a clan i needed to change my name to a color so it bacame Red but then i dindt make the clan becos someone who hated me said that he whould leav the clan if i joined so the name was chenged back... but when i got to a forum some month later i couldent use Making you red...
then i remeberd the name Red and it becam my internet name..

When i first started i was called =killer= but after a while when my mate joined we changed our names too =jedi-jim= and =jedi-joe= therfore creating the jedi clan, we gained around 30 members and could beat most anyone, the clan kinda disintergrated a year ago when i had no more time to sit at my computer, but you will often see lone members of the jedi clan roaming around steam pwning all they see, hopefully well have a family reunion soon and get the clan goin again

well, my name came about when I first joind TWHL...

I was looking for a good HL mapping site, and I found TWHL.
I watched it for a while, reading the tuts and reading answeres in the forums becasue I still had no clue how to be a good mapper. Then I saw a question in the forums I could answer, so I decided to join and answer it.

so I did, but I had to first think of a name. so I figured that since this was a HL mapping site I would pick a Half-life'y name. so I thought of HL. then rembembered the Monsters in it. I thought about the nihil, but hes a big ass ugly thing. then I thought about Gonarch, to easy to defeat. Thought about some of the lowly monsters, to weak.

Then I thought of the Gargantua, A big ass blue thing with alot of stengh and the ability to shoot flames out of its hands, and plus you always had to defeat them in creative ways.

and so I put Monster_Gargantua as my name, then shortened it to M_Gargantua and created myself.

Then I realized that I made me sound like a sad fat dude sitting in front of his computer. but I really didn't care.

and that is how my name came about. I now use it on most HL related stuff.

I have many alias online as well, M_gargantua only being one of them. see If you can guess anymore of them.
