To the members of TWHL

I regret to inform you that the judging for the competition will take a little longer. Now, before you come after me with pitchforks and torches, allow me to explain.

The RAR that Alex sent me turned out to be corrupt. However, WinRAR did not report the error to me, and when I checked the maps folder, all the maps were present.
I was able to check both Trapt's and doodle's maps, but none of the others worked. On closer inspection, the rest of the maps had file sizes of 0.
Alex will be preparing a brand new RAR, containing all the maps including Trapt's and doodle's. I shall be starting the judging from the start so that everyone gets a fair chance.
I accept full responsibility for this delay, as I've taken far too long already (school and other responsibilities). I apologise for this delay, and will do my best to get the results off and packing to Atom as soon as possible.

I received a special pack that Alex put together and not the actual compo files that you submitted through TWHL. Alex received those, filtered some out and packed them up for me.

Don't panic, Ant, as I said in an e-mail. It appears that part of the archive was, mysteriously, passworded, and part not.

Jazhel, .7z, 7zip, was about two thirds of the size of a standard ZIP file, and that's a fairly big deal for Ant, as he's on 33k dial-up. ZIPs are relatively poor.

As for my part in this, what I did was unpack everything to the right directories for my own judging, then archived them retaining the neat structure, so Ant could just unzip everything straight to half-life and it'd all be in the right places for him. Every valid entry was send (the Source ones were not).

I hope that clears things up. We shall keep you all posted.

Try usin Bzip2, now there's a nice file compression format, except you poor Windows users don't get a native bz2 compressor. Hah.

IMO, you should withhold the results indefinitely. In this way, we can all figure we won first place!

as for the talk of file types. zips are better but WinRAR is better for opening them.

PKZIP is in no way superior to RAR.

The independent judging has been completed, now we're discussing the final positions, as two of our three personal favourites differ from each other's :).
