CModelLoader:: Map_IsValid: 'tester' is not a valid BSP file map load failed: tester not found or invalid.

when compiling my HL2 map, i get this error in the console.

below are my pc specs + compile log-

AMD Athlon 3.6Ghz 3200+
2GB Ram
400GB Dual-harddrives
GeForce 6 256mb

Your mapping for HL2 right? then why are you using Zoners compile tools?

Half life 2 doesn't use CSG anymore!

You have to use the Source SDK to map for HL2 (Hammer 4.0)

Are you even using the Source SDK from Steam's play games menu?

You cannot use the ZHLT toolkit anymore - Instead use the VALVe tools (vbsp, vrad, vvis).

Ok I knew you might not understand so here is an explanation:

You posted this thread in the HL2 section so I assume your mapping for HL2. Well the problem I see is that your using the old Hammer 3.4 or 3.5 to map for it. Source / HL2 doesn't use Hammer 3.4 / 3.5 anymore and you have to use Hammer 4.0.
You can't download Hammer 4.0 off the internet and the only way to use it is via Steam. In the play games list at the bottom you should see SDK. Double click it and let it load. It should then give you a choice of Model Viewer, Hammer and Face Poser. Choose Hammer and map away!

Then compile etc etc and it will work.

The reason its not working is because your using compiling tools made for Half life 1 only!

Half Life 2 doesn't use hlcsg.exe anymore and uses vbsp, vvis and vrad only. So in a quick summary you need to use the Source SDK in Steam to map for HL2, CSS etc. Currently your mapping for HL2 using the HL1 editor.
