I'm making a HL2 DM map, and am trying to make glass fit within a certain shape I have made, but I do not know how to add new vertices to it so I can mold it into the right shape.

But if I do that, then you can see the sides of the pieces of glass that aren't part of it, which makes it look kind of ugly.

Put NODRAW on the sides you don't want rendered, then?
When VMing, select a side marker (
not
a corner), and press Ctrl+F to split it in half, thereby adding more vertices.
