Nice splash indeed. Needs something in the background instead of black, though, that would improve it a lot.

I tend to disagree.

About the black background, that is. The splash looks good, but it's too busy for a background. It makes text and buttons hard to read - and to discern.

gargly, its a great map.. but.. nothing happens.. i was inb the first room for about 5 mins before i noclipped thru the door. the button to call the elevator doesnt work....
stuff like that.. :/

ah, damn, right, I forgot to add a trigger for the first door. glass is breakable you know :P . anyway, i hurryed just to send it off. it was stuff like that that i ignored to make the map sendable. ill fix all that

Captain: I cannot see the need for the descriptive text at all. I'd make the button images black text and have a nice splash. Who needs an explanation of "quit" or "load game"?

That's a good point, Seventh. Most buttons are self-explaining.

Thing is, I don't like over-busy menu's. It has to be quickly and easy accessible for me, and I think that's something a lot of people will like.
That doesn't mean a menu can't be stylish or good-looking, not at all. But there are certain restrictions. Same goes for websites.

Tuning down the contrast in the background, especially behind the menu buttons, would do the menu good, methinks.
Or make the buttons more prominent. Bright white or so.

Well it seems green does suit it! I changed from HL1 orange to green and I thought it looked good.

Hunter, that would be the end of A(where the elevator stops that is, i separated the full level at that point and made it into A, B, and C(C is ending and credits). B was just getting to big and compily.

Urb, that looks great. but where are you getting the great textuers.

so tell me, why does gordon go to find barney?.. I need more info if I'm going to make this work.. lol.. at the time I'm finding someone to do barney's voice, so that the player can actually follow the story.. instead of not knowing what your doing, etc...

So I need to make a script, so yep, the more info, the better.. :)

Or maybe barney has Gordon's weapons or something... and then decides to tag along..

Although, i believe the crowbar and HEV suit get given to player in chapter 1

The strings need some tidying up, and the image is rather plain. I think that the mod name would look better small-ish, myself.

The quit string looks amateurish.

I'd probably remove all the strings. Try it. That, and making the images into something different.

If we want the barney to go with gordon to the everyplace.That means YOU NEED TO MAKE PLAIN PATHS SO THAT BARNEY CAN FOLLOW YOU!Hunter you need to make a 1 month delay or something :

and bugs and such will have to be really ironed out if we want barney to go with the player, (what if you need his help, but a scripted_sequence fails?)

Trigger Change Level
I was thinking of a cool, and easy setup for a changelevel transition.
in my level, when going through the city, it changes levels, but first an env_fade is triggered... causing it to quickly fade out, pause, and the load the next level, in which it fades in..
Just an idea..
I think it would give a nice effect... example, when getting out of barney's apartment building, you see the door, you press E at the building exit, (the door : func_button) which fades out, changes level, then fades in with you outside, with barney..

garg, im interested what you've devised for the ending, wither way, i want lots of explosion and runnign from firing grunts with a matter of minutes before the base explodes.. like.. gordon defuses the nuke.. but the bases self-distruct is activated. ur part is second most important (first being the intro) and you need an ending that people will remember. i want guns blazing, explosions going off, lasers firing out of shattered machinery.. the works

ok, im making good progress on HS6_B, although, i want your guys opinion. should I have the silo the nuke spawns in be random, becasue I have the Three silos visible from the launch room. what do you think?

sounds fantastic.

Okay, heres the plan,
we rush this release, give it to friends and 'beta testers' then we fix bugs, work on details, improve lgihting and texturing, decide splash screen etc etc and final release will be 1st January 2006.
