Seventh: Refrain from posting such large images with the [img] commands, please. Horizontal scrolls are annoying as hell.

As for the image I posted, it was mostly an experiment which I thought looked kind of cool.

Yeah, sorry. I can't view stuff from seventhmonkey.zapto.org behind my own router, and I couldn't be arsed to actually look at the resolution.

Also, yes, I made the whole model. It's pretty damn good, actually.

Dunno about this one. Quick work, more of an experiment. It's a 4-colour PNG, around 5kb.

Hey what's that smell? Smells like Victory to me!!

With the help of Pepper's Beginner Milkshape Tutorial, I've successfully completed my Milky model!

I miss the functionality of Gmax but wtf, if you cant easily export the models what's the point? It was so hard not being able to select stuff in the 3D view!!

Thanks!

Your's too, and nice texture mapping--lambda symbol WEWT!--btw.

Other tutorials that I should mention that were quite useful, which I think Pepper mentioned in the competition thread:

Milkshape basics
Modeling a weapon
These other from Psionic look cool as well.

if you're using firefox, then save the page as a .jpg file. if you're using ie, then I feel sorry for you. If you're using opera, use firefox. opera's buggy. if you're using netscape, then crawl out from under the rock that you've been hiding under and get firefox.

(it's a server issue with my web host.)
Posted 18 years ago2005-11-18 16:29:47 UTC Post #147852
Opera isn't buggy. No Opera or Firefox-bashing. IE and Netscape are okay :).

That's the webhost you're recommending? One totally ignorant of the words "mime" "-" "type"?

If someone could make this more pwn than it already is, I might give you my first born. Also sized 1280?768... :glad:

One thing I definitely don't like, is that I think it's too hard to see her right arm holding her side--too dark imo. Otherwise, sweet sweet pwnage.

Also should mention, I have no idea who the artist is...
Posted 18 years ago2005-11-21 10:24:39 UTC Post #148212
Sweet pwnage indeed. Orgasmically beautiful...
it is creepy to see her like that tho.

how ever, artistically, it lacks dimension, drama, and focus.

It was a bit inspired by an idea for a source mod i have.

How cool would it be to play as a Vortigaunt with all their abilities and such.
Is there a mod already like this though?

Yes, point of view, not sure if there working on a source mod.
Posted 18 years ago2005-11-29 14:59:40 UTC Post #149761
It'd be awsome to zap people and have gravity-gun based abilities.

If i would make this mod, i would give the player like 5 different skills. Each skill would then level up as you use them. it could work.

I don't understand how you people can draw people and such in photoshop!
(like those who snpbond made)
What tools do you use?
How do you start?
Make a tut or,, something! :P

He didn't draw the people, he just cut them from some screenie and made them blend in.
And as for making 3D people and such, you should use some 3D image editing program. Xara 3D or something.. :

SNPbond steals stuff for his sigs.

As for drawing, it's fully possible... If I remember correctly, kol drew his avatar in photoshop or some similar photo editing program, no additional tools used.

The insperation to the result was, of course the girl I like, that's as close as you can get in Photoshop.
Exept the skin color is a little bit darker. :)
And her eyes are much nicer, wich,, kinda, makes the whole pic a little different but, it is close!
