If if replace my mother board in my computer will I have to re-enter my cd-key? Because I the computer I have came pre-installed with XP home
and I dont have the CD-key or XP setup disk. I heard that if you make certain hardware changes you will have to do this...

If the new mobo is the same model as the old one, then you'll be fine iirc. Windows XP sucks, btw. Scrap it and get Win2k.

If it doesn't work, you should be able to call MS. I'd just download a Corporate version of XP: those don't require activation.

I've always seen it termed "Corporate" in, ahem, such circles. The keys are termed VLKs, yes, generally. Don't know if the Corporate is a licensing term, or just made up.

No, it's not free, but if you 'buy' it, it doesn't require activation, as it's intended for deployment in large organisations who don't want to spend a week solidly on the phone to MS goons.
