I think this should go here so.

I've decided to make this tread for random HL stuff because there are a few things ive been wanting to know even though there probably no one here who knows so If you have any random HL stuff or questions that someone might know the answer to post them here.

Heres some of my questions that I've wanted to know but will probably never know: How many bullets gordon got to shoot?
How many monster did gordon have a chance to kill?
How many barneys did gordon get to make them follow him?
how many scientist did you get to meet up with or save?
How many grunts were there?

Sorry if theres been one like this but yeah I havent seen them.

More importantly, why are there so few women working at Black Mesa?
Posted 18 years ago2005-12-29 03:16:21 UTC Post #155095
lol but the assasins are women.

Wrong forum, this should be in the general Disscusions forum! This forum is for questions related to mapping/modeling/coding for Hl1.

There are ~100 levels or .bsp in hl1.
Every basic texteditor can read them and can search for a certain string. Most of them tell how often the string was found.
Just search all .bsps for the entity names of enemy monsters.
Same for barnies, scientists and soldiers.

Did you know
~~~~~~~~
Gordon Freeman Has a Pony-tail.
From the maps c0a0d to c0a0e, the orientation of the BSP changes 90? left.
Throughout the game, layout is done without considering previous maps, so if you were to put the game into a huge BSP file, lots of sections would overlap
Gman's briefcase has someting in it... change the rendermode of the .mdl to check it out.
There's loads of models and sounds in the PAK that was never used.
For example, the chumtoad or that bat-thingy (can't remember name). I think they both exist in PoV.
There are a lot of things that werent in hl1 lots of anims in models and stuff like that.
And theres the constructionist.mdl
1.The crossbow model had another skin.
2.The mp5 model looks like it is from another game.
3.The gauss gun had a handle or wath.
4.There was a cool egon skin that wasnt used.
And now other
1.Valve didnt make a grenade reload animation for Mp5.
2.Valve never used holster animations
Kingpin.mdl is one nasty fucker which was never used.
The construction guy isn't called gus...the forklift guy is, and they're diff. people. The Asheep team got it wrong, the construction guy is actually the old barney model...that's why all the textures are prefixed with "BARN_". They changed it to the current LD barney before the game was released, if you look on the HIT website, it has a pic of the old alpha/beta barney somewhere.
Did you guys know that in the Opposing Force .pak file theres a model of Gordon laying dead with a pair of sunglasses on?
Gus is a tubby lardman with barney's armour vest on but only at his back. The rest of him is made up of green overalls, a yellow helmet and an octagonal shaped face
in deathmatch you can keep the egon firing continually without losing ammo by pressing and holding right click whilst firing. let go of left click and you keep on firing without losing ammo.
Gordon had a wife, she's the hologram in the Training Room...
You can hear the Gman's argument with the scientist in Black Mesa...
Valve never utilised the suit's ability to report the time.
Valve never utilised the suit's ability to fail. There are a few suit vox sounds that say "HEV Critical Failure. HEV Shutting down."
The dead-Gordon model in OppFor is called dealhaz.mdl, with 4 dead-Gordon positions. It uses the Gordon.mdl textures, all prefixed with PLAYER_.
GMAN supposedly have a cell phone. Its texture name is called Cell1.bmp and can be found in gman.mdl. (Hey, that cell phone looks old.)
There's a candy bar in OppFor. (lol)
Valve never used the Lego-like loader you see in Black Mesa Inbound much... there are animations for it parking, freeze, dropping boxes, loading them...
The fat-Barney in OppFor, called Otis, does not use the 9MM Glock. He is supposedly using the Desert Eagle pistol.
