Graveyard Designs opened today. It's a project of mine where I offer to make pretty much anyone's site. Read more in the about or services page.
Thought I'd pimp it here.

What I'd like from you guys is input and comments on the design, content and layout of the entire page - I tried to go for a corporate, professional look. The images are all taken with my own Digi-cam, so I pray there'll be no copyright mumbo jumbo there.

So, let me know what you think.

^^

This really comes in handy, cuz im getting my own domain very soon (themightyatom.nl = me), and so i need a website. I don't really care if it will be pretty or not, im just going to use the site as a personal news site for my projects. Perhaps you would like to design the site for me?

Sure. Just E-mail me with the details and content, and perhaps some graphics you'd like to see on the site.

Overall first impression is good. The site feels clean and easy on the eye, the image on the right is a nice touch too.

A few things though:
1. The title image is cluttered and the corporate name doesn't stand out too much. A clearer font and color contrast would do good.
2. The sites body is small compared to my screen. Do a little something to spice up the sides rather than using a light uniform color. Not that my site does this perfect, but hey. ;)
3. The javascript for popup windows on your Examples page doesn't work here. I'm using IE 6.0 at the moment, being at school.
4. You refer to your portfolio site quite often, like the About page and such. Perhaps it's a good idea to include an About page on your 'corporation' site to make it feel more consistent?
5. The tone of your writing isn't very enthousiastic. I understand it isn't meant to be a corporations site but it does give a certain impression. The name Graveyard Designs doesn't sound very warm, too (and doesn't make me think of Design, really). ;)

But besides those little points, the site looks technically well-done and pleasing to the eye. Nice work.

Hmm, very nice site me thinks, although there is one little niggle I have, the 'Graveyard Designs' bit at the top, doesn't really fit in to me.

The rest of the site is kind of soft and professional, and then there is cartoony writing at the top, just kinda ruins the atmosphere.

Picture on the right is nice though. :)

nice layout. It loads fast on dialup, and doesn't have too much text. Just wondering, do you know PHP? Could come in handy if you plan on doing this as a business ever. You can do lots more interactive features (shoutbox, forums, comments form...)

Thought I'd update this old thread with some pimpage.

http://themightyatom.nl/ - for MuzzleFlash.
http://hunter.weebitmagic.com/ - For The Hunter.
http://mikeverret.co.nr/ - For Unbreakable.

And no, I don't know PHP, but I will learn it some day. Just can't be arsed.
Tally ho.

Since noone seems to want me to make a site for them :(

Heh, sorry, but no thanks :P . Just brush up your CSS skills and you'll have plenty of work in no time. There's always a need for good web designers, and seeing as how you know PHP quite well from what I've seen, you shouldn't have any problem finding work.

webxact2.watchfire.com is a helpful tool (especially for disability access evaluation of sites. Graveyard designs comes out pretty well overall. TWHL does not. For SHAME Alex!
