Heres a question that poses itself to me each time i watch a Dvd. Why is there one part in every movie on a DvD where the sound goes away for a second? Does the Dvd-reader skip to a second layer or what?

This is an important, deep thought? I thought we were going to be talking philosophy in this thread. Curses... I've never noticed this either, it could just be your DVD player.

I've noticed this in a few of my DVDs. Exactly Halfway through the film it will stop for a second. I remember it happening in 'Black Hawk Down' and 'Enemy at the Gates.'
It tends to be films with added bonus features all on the one disk rather than a film disk and a bonus disk.

it skips for a split-second. they usually try to make it skip during a quiet moment, but the fact is that the sound goes away fully taking even the atmosphere sound away. its not just my dvdplayer, i noticed it on a friends player aswell. This is serious business!

Death to the great Satan!
The sound pausing is probably something you'd never really notice until someone points it out to you, and afterwards you can't get over it. I hate annoying stuff like that.
