Mah.
I had some really stupid IDea for nintendo to make some "Metroid editors".
NES (for them old skoolers!)
GB (Yellow... ew...)
SNES (For those who wish to use the power of the super!
GBA ( fusion , Zombie's day in some random ship?)
Prime 1 & 2 (Space pirates! Destroy all bounty hunters!)
Zero Mission (Space pirates!)

These would cost... well , Depends on it really. The 2nd , the NES And the super metroid would be fairly cheap. Fusion & Zero woudl cost say , ?17 , And primes - ?25.
All for the PC of course!
Make your own levels , enemies and even custom tilesets!
Make music! Change the game to make PHYSIX!
Most of all - Your executable!
Share your homebrew games online!
Most of all - All on PC Of course!

If anyone does like metroid - Comment on this idea!

Ps. I've been away for ages , is Dr.Mapper still here?
This work?

If you don't know yet, you can do much of what you said by rom hacking the older games.

Metroid 3 (super Metroid) was the best. I would SO mod the hell out of that game to kingdom come.

But i'm not good at hacking roms either.

Hacking roms is easy. Just get some coffee and spend a night on google. Or just ask my friend tyler, he'll find one for you. If someone really wants one, i can ask him to hunt one down. he EXCELS at stuff like that.

Anyway

i would waste much of the rest of my life modding metroid prime 1/2 so.i want an editor >.<

Good idea Good map.
Kudos

3D sidescrollers aren't a new idea. It's already been done in some N64 Kirby game long ago, and before that, I know Crash Bandicoot did it.

There's a sidescroller with Ratchet and Clank, but it's for mobile phones and definitely 2D. I have it somewhere =/

There are plenty of 3D (or semi-3D) side-scrollers, Paper Mario and Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project spring to mind.

Are there any that are really well done though? Paper Mario is quite good, but it could've used some improvements.
