The video on it's own is so out of context it's unreal.

It's like a chart full of statistics. You can dress it up to look like anything you want.

Truth is, you don't know what happened before the event. PP doesn't even link to the video itself, let alone any real explanation.

This article is a prime example of journalistic writing designed to provoke a response from the un-informed.

Just like many BBC articles.
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-28 17:25:40 UTC Post #226694
Have you even read the whole PP article?

FFS...

It explains it all: what lead to it, what happened, and what measures are being taken.

So inform yourself.

Playbus is right. I don't trust the news in any "he said, she said" stories. There's simply too much going on to be understood from a (biased) news article.

In my opinion: Those skateboarders had it coming to them. Cursing, resisting, and running get you nowhere with an officer. It's funny as hell when they shout "Why are you doing this?" when they give off a "fight the power" vibe with their actions.

Yes.

It proves nothing, and cites only other sources which also prove nothing.

"He said, she said" -- as Dave said
So inform yourself.
You appear simply to have leapt to a conclusion, and become so convinced by your "research" (which is more than likely limited to reading stuff on the internet) that you are now unwilling to accept other views on the subject.

You're the one who is un-informed.

Meh, not a very big deal. People make mistakes, his were just more noticeable. Although I have to say this wasn't all his fault. From what I heard about this (as I was in a similiar discussion about this just two days ago) the kids were smack talking to the officer, and he probably didn't feel he should get pushed around by them. And in the video you can see some resisting arrest. Start doing that and your asking for the cop to fuck you over.

In my opinion, he may have used excessive force because there were lots of them (4-6 I think?) and he may have been peeved off by their smart ass comments.

Oh, and I'll just add that he was originally stopping them because skateboarding (even those it was seemingly "go skateboarding day") was against city orders (for rather obvious reasons) but the kids decided to make a big deal out of it and the cop went too far.

Thing is, Jahzel, you don't know the truth. You're making assumptions based only on your own feelings, which are almost certainly biased and incorrect.

In principle, I actually agree with you on much of what you say about the state of the world.

But I think your attitude towards the whole thing is terrible and it seriously puts you across as a bit of an idiot.

You can't possibly be wrong about anything, and anyone who disagrees with you (or your attitude) gets insulted.

And that's why we've never had a serious debate. Because you're just not ready for real debate. You're ready to regurgitate what you read on the internet to others and shout at them that it can't possibly be wrong, just because it makes sense to you.

You're not part of the solution Jahzel. You're part of the problem. And if you can't see that, it just makes it worse in the long run.

You're not helping the truth movement. At all.

Posted 17 years ago2007-06-29 13:40:14 UTC Post #226798
...and I bet you support this decision too.

I bet you think it's totally reasonable, and that everything's just fine - and Government's good, and should be worshipped, and cops choking young kids on the street for skateboarding is good. I bet you think this is all for your own safety because 'al Qaeda' is out to get us. I bet you think free speech aids Islamofascists so we should just ban freedom, maybe you want to be thrown in a detention centre for no reason at all....
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-29 13:46:31 UTC Post #226799
No I don't support that at all. That's a really, really, really bad thing.

But you're jumping to conclusions about people once again.

You've reacted to mild criticism with a child-like tantrum.

Grow up.
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-29 13:50:20 UTC Post #226803
...it's no tantrum.

I'm just seeing the total destruction of everything that makes this world good and people in total denial, literally sleepwaking into a global nazi state, trying to find some kind of rationale in what these bastards are doing.

Grow up? I did. I wish people like you did too.

What a wise and educated stance to take.

Look, I'm not getting at you, or at least - not trying to. But, can you understand why I am so angered and fed up these days?

I just can't believe how bad things are getting and how worse things will get.

...Meanwhile the mainstream media calls everything a conspiracy theory and the general public are being conditioned to accept it and stand back, grovel, cower, and let the big boot of Government kick them so hard they're left on their hands and knees searching for their nuts.
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-29 14:23:59 UTC Post #226808
But, can you understand why I am so angered and fed up these days?
Yup.

I agree that certain major governments are full of shit and are quite possibly trying to build a huge prison for us all.

I agree that there are a lot of very sick people in positions of power who completely have their own agenda and don't give a shit about anyone else.

I agree that the media is one big pile of steaming crap.

I agree that most people in heavily populated areas of the US and the UK (other countries too, but these mainly right now) are being subjected to conditioning, to accept what is happening. Actually, this area is of particular interest to me personally, and I have closely studied aspects of it. The advertising industry is an extremely interesting thing to study, and the methods they use are far, far more complex and more relevant than even you probably think. The supermarket that you (might) shop at uses many techniques to direct you in particular ways which the media also uses to induce acceptance in the population.

I think it's a very bad thing, and also very suspicious, that "conspiracy theories" are pushed aside by the majority as "insane", because in a society that claims to uphold scientific principles (with regard to what is true and what is not) that doesn't stand up.

Everything should be considered, no matter how ridiculous the face value maybe.

But that includes you considering things you might not like.

Simply in the name of fairness.

If you're not fair in your calculation, then you can't deliver a result which will convince many people.

So, I do agree with you.

I just urge you to re-consider how you present your views to others.

I hope you do, and that you win widespread support and become US president.

:)

Did you know about the stuff they do at the Los Alamos Research Labs, experimenting with television flicker rates on primates? There are people out there who get paid a lot of money to come up with new ways to contribute to the mass hypnosis of the public. There's so much going on, it's just ridiculous.

I think the reason anti-skating laws were invented is because it puts the people around the skaters at risk. Boards flying (or rolling or whatever) off and hitting someone, people bailing into someone, skating into someone. My advice to any city with a skating problem: Build a nice skate park. It helped loads where I live.

By that logic, if you believe that the US government had something to do with 9/11, then you must also believe the Apollo Moon-Landing Hoax Theory, the New World Order conspiracy, the Jewish or Zionist global domination conspiracy theories, and the Paul is Dead conspiracy .

Skaters got owned! Loved that video. They "illegally" skated, and the kid ran. Don't run, idiot. I really can't comment on the girl, wether she did anything to be choked out, but the guy who was in the white deserved it, he went after the cop pretty quickly and I am sure if you were a cop, and was mad, you would do the same. I am sure the skaters were dicks about it, so screw 'em.

You know, Jahzel is only trying to help. That's all. He's someone in the crowd who is shouting: "HEY LOOK OUT, THERE'S A CAR COMING TOWARDS US OUT OF CONTROL! IT'S GOING TO HIT US IF WE DON'T WATCH OUT!"

And you guys are like: "WTF is that dolt yelling about? Can't you see we're happy here, watching the parade, and some ass is yelling about some car coming, thats gonna hit us. They should take that loud mouth and arrest him - he's being disruptive."

And then, the crowd gets rolled over, killing a few people. The people who survive say: "Wow, he was right. I should have paid attention."

Ya see, that's all Jahzel is doing. He's looking out for you, and trying to make you look at what's going on. He's not saying that whatever he types is God's truth.

I, for one, thank Jahzel for what he's doing here on an internet forum. I'm sure he doesn't know any of you personally, but he's taking it upon himself to say: "Hey, wake up. There's is alot of evil crap going on in the world and I want to share some things with you that the mainstream media won't cover. Take a look, guys."
Posted 17 years ago2007-06-30 12:19:04 UTC Post #226914
DocRock: your metaphor sucks. Jahzel should get off his soapbox, but I can see from his profile that he's a troll who spams anarchist propoganda. Whatever.

And at this point the crowd starts debating whether or not the car even exists, Jazel cites some obscure news sites, yells out some propaganda about American rights, and everyone gets rather huffy about everything. As all this happens the imagined "car" is still crawling towards them. Eventually everyone but Jazel gets hungry or bored and goes off to find some snacks, no side having proven anything.

In other words, your analogy stinks. :P

Well, if the world is indeed already being masterminded by evil alien reptiles who dress up like queens, what's going to get worse? According to truthism (and I'm guessing that's what both Doc and Jahzel stand behind), the world's been under their control for thousands of years. How are things going to get worse? I mean, they're pretty good as it is, least for me. I mean, I can't complain. Why would the ruling elite change something now?

Meh, perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions. After all, truthism (ridiculous site, by the way) has little to do with 9/11 conspiracies and cops gone bad and civil rights going out the window. Sigh.

Copied this from that "truth" website, which is a freaking hilarious read front to end.

Your Ego
You have an ego, but you cannot turn it off. So, in this particular instance, you can use your ego in either one of two ways:

1.) Reject the information on this website due to the fact that you do not want to feel like you've been lied to your entire life.

or,

2.) Accept the information on this website, and then use it to make yourself feel superior to other human beings.

... it is clear what some idiots here have chosen, but now it is clear why. They want to feel superior to us.
