At the moment:
'01 Ibanez RG550SA (DiMarzio ToneZone in bridge, Blue Velvet in center and Air Norton in neck)
Laney GH50L + random Laney 2x12 cab (JJ/Eurotubes EL34L pair and JJ/Eurotubes ECC83S quad)
Morley Bad Horsie II
ADA MP-1 (3TubeMod)
D'Addario XL 10-46 strings

RG550's are just plain awesome, they have ridiculously playable necks (not comfortable if you have huge hands however), lovely trems (Edge and LoPro are FAR FAR better than OFR's by far, way more movement both ways, far smoother and far more "buttery" to use) and just plain own really.

Being musically retarded, I find it quite interesting seeing what kinds of equipment you people invest in.

Used to have a keyboard when I tried to learn the piano. Didn't work out well :P
Posted 17 years ago2007-07-18 23:06:30 UTC Post #229528
I've spent well over $3,000 on music equipment.
Not just amps and guitars.. but everything else included. Like strings, pics, cases, stands, straps, cords, pedals, power strips...

Posted 17 years ago2007-07-18 23:42:02 UTC Post #229529
@Penguinboy: Yes, it does. I spent way too much getting it to work. It needed an overpriced phantom power supply, a desktop stand, and some XLR cables and adapters - none included with the mic itself. :furious:

How doesn't it?

Srry posted some of his stuff, and I'm pointing out that he's been working on that for months now, and that he went so far in to detail (and bored me) that I remember what I was doing when he was talking about (over AIM).

Does that make more sense?

It does sound mega awesome.

@saw: I haven't been setting it up for months... I was done setting that up months ago.

And he's right, that post made no sense, even to me. How is anybody supposed to derive from that muddled sentence that I was boring you?

You must have a short attention span too, because I don't remember that conversation being particularly lengthy. I believe you asked what I was doing, so I told you.

Tetsu0 Tetsu0Positive Chaos
Posted 17 years ago2007-07-26 16:42:31 UTC Post #230373
Weddings and musicals. Great thing about the trumpet is that it matches any situation, whether it be jazz or classical, so there's no limit to what gig I can accept.

I've made $700 purely from weddings this summer. Easy money

That's awesome. My band has been on the same stage as Breaking benjamin, shinedown, nickelback, trapt. (Not opening for them, of course) But we've actually opened for Belladonna; Joey Belladonna's new group. THAT was cool. The most we've ever gotten payed for a gig was $50, and thats because we sold an extra 25 tickets... But it's hard to find a good paying show, unless you're signed to a record label

how i wish....

Heheheheheheheh :D

I average $100 per-wedding, and just recently, I made a whopping $425 off of a musical entitled 'Guys 'n Dolls.' Of course, it's still a lot of work. We had 5 dress rehersals and 9 showings.

The performing industry can be amazingly lucrative if you know where to look.

I guess i don't know where to look, but then again, it's 2 different genres of music we're talking about.

Yeah, true. I'm one of the only trumpeters (or actively performing trumpeters, really) in the area, too, so there's very little competition for gigs and such.
Posted 17 years ago2007-07-28 22:48:49 UTC Post #230580
I've got three Evans brand toms with G2 genera coated heads, a cheap snare (can't remember the brand), and both a ride and two crash cymbals (all three made by Sabian). Aside from that I've got a couple of bongos that I mess about with from time to time, a tambourine, and two maracas.

Posted 17 years ago2007-08-03 04:42:10 UTC Post #231110
Is that a PRS Tetsu0?

I got a Paul Reed Smith Soapbar II Maple, a cheapo imitation fender wich i started out with, some sort of old acoustic guitar from HAN(never heard of em) and a Semi acoustic dreadnaught steel string guitar. A simple Silkroad box 25RG amp, a Toneport UX1 connection so i can hook it up to my computer. Then i use the Rippen piano downstairs from time too time. I dont have a camera right now, but il get you guys pics when i get a chance to do so.
Posted 17 years ago2007-08-03 07:51:31 UTC Post #231114
Oh do i wish it was a PRS.
It's a Schecter C-1.
But my dream guitar is a PRS 513 Rosewood. Thing's like 6 grand but it has 5 pickups and 2 5-way switches. The tone control is amazing. Guitar center let me play one and i almost creamed myself.

And yes, saw i can actually play them. Thats only 2/5 my guitars tho.

I go direct into my computer with an adapter out of the headphone jack of the amp and into the mic jack on my computer. Works wonders.

Looks like a PRS though :)

Is that also a fender there? Cant read the name on it though, but i love that paint!
Posted 17 years ago2007-08-04 14:37:04 UTC Post #231248
My next guitar will be a PRS for sure.
Nah i'm not a fan of fenders.
It's a Kramer Focus. My first guitar, and it's pretty beat up but still plays like the day i got it.
