In case you haven't seen it, here's a video.

As a senator said, a bride in the United States of America should not spontaneously collapse for no particular reason.

When i first saw it when I turned on CNN, I was absolutely shocked. It looked like once of those movies where there's a 10.0 earthquake happens on the West Coast.

I'm surprised this didn't happen in my area. Highway and bridge tolls are astronomical, but legislators raid toll funds for the state budget. Meanwhile, the roads are falling apart.

Saw it on the news the day it happned. Sad, really.
I'm surprised nobody has tried to call it a terrorst attack yet, though. I was sure that news teams would jump right on that.

According to Yahoo news the bridge had been patched up several times with makeshift materials. I'll be shocked if the conspiracy theorists don't jump on this one like a ravenous dingo on a slow kangaroo.

I find it facinating that this happened just as the Pat Tillman execution story began breaking. Coincidence? Any thoughts?

I won't lie, I myself suspected terrorism at first, because I found it quite a coincidence that it happened at the height of rush hour. However, once someone told me about the bridge's age and shortcomings, I realized that it was a very bad accident.

The terror alert level is orange! That means any bridge collapses automatically means sabotage by shifty Bedouins.

I don't see how even the most die-hard conspiracy theorist could call this sabotage. I mean, it's so obvious what happened.

If anyone tries to turn this into some concpiracy plot, they should be slapped.

Those poor Minneapolisian school children. :(

Whoever was supposed to be keeping that bridge up to shape should be getting shit.

My wife is from Minnesota. Almost her whole family live there still, and used the bridge regularly. I was on that bridge myself only 18 months ago.

Thankfully, we were relieved to hear that they are all fine. There was a moment of panic, though.

My sympathies go out to all those families who weren't so lucky.

Hehe, no conspiracies here I'm afraid. Just a very unfortunate event.

...Reminds me of the Mothman Prophecies :combine:

Actualy, if i would be told to calculate the chances under wich conditions a bridge would collapse then rushour would score pretty high, with badly maintained bridges this is, because there are supposed to be able to stand strong under those conditions.
