Right, I think we've all seen the E3 vid traptown, and it is no secret that I am remaking it.
Now, I am experiencing a bit of a problem with the crane trap where you shoot at a bunch of beams bunted together and they start swinging and smashes the combine in the head.

The top of the crane has a rope going down to the hook.
The hook is lengthconstrainted to the top of the crane.
It hangs there, fine no problem.
However, I need something to hang in the hook!
I need the beamcluster to hang in the hook.
Also, the beamcluster needs to be hung at two points - the edges, not just one point.
I need it to swing straight, not rotate around.

How can this be done?

I could make a drawing in paint of how I want it if someone didn't understand.

Thanks!

its already been done - theres a hl2dm map called traptown, and iirc, the beta had the RMF!

thats not to say you can still remake it if you want ^_^

I told him that but he wants to add his own twist Moocow style.

I know it already has been remade, but I am remaking the singleplayer. :>

That has ALSO been remade, but I still want to.
As Mooboi said, I want Moocow style.

Espen: It still leaves the same problem (although, if the first problem is solved, that solves THE OTHER ONE)
No it doesn't :< Im tired.

How do I hang something in something that is already hanged?
You can't make a double phys_lengthconstraint.. or can you?

You might be able to parent the second phys_lengthconstraint the end of the first phys_lengthconstraint. Just a guess though. If this doesn't work parent a func_brush or something to the end of the first phys_lengthconstraint and then parent the second phys_lengthconstraint to the block and give the block the "nodraw" texture

Oh sorry I didn't state that in the beginning..
You can't parant a phys_lengthconstraint.
If you could, there woul be no problem I guess.
Lengthconstraint has a more complex system

Have you tried adding parent in manually? Tis how I got my body floating since there wasn't a parent for an entity I needed.

Well no.
I guess I could try but I don't think it works that way.

When you only hang one thing using a lengthconstraint you put it in entity 1 right?
Well, what's the use of entity 2?
I thought that was what I was supposed to use

Edit: I THINK I'VE GOT IT :o
