Does any one know if you can make your own sounds for fruity loops. Like can I record a note from my guitar and convert it to be usable as a note in fl? And is there any other better sound programs out there to make beats for cheap? Fl seams like the best for the money but prices of sounds is retarded. Like 30 bux for a guitar sound.

I dislike Fl, but then again I write "noted" music with Finale.

Helpful much?

Either way, if you're looking for more instruments, there are dozens of free SoundFont files available on on the internet that you can grab. Thats what I use mostly, that and generators for synth.

...or grab Adobe Audition or Soundbooth and a $35-$40 USB mic and do it the hard way.

Not helpful at all, I agree. My point stands, heh.

If you're referring to recording, just enable recording from "line in" and press the record button in FL. Then you can add it in the piano roll or playlist or whatever you like.

I record using goldwave, and add distortion/effects afterwards with guitarrig 2.

Yes you can. If you have the latest FL Studio, use Edison to record external sounds and save them. FL Studio can use most audio files - I should know because I use the bugger quite a lot these days...

I've always used Cubase and love it, its so detailed and the fine-tuning possible is just endless. In my mind it will always win, hands down. However if your into buying software, I think its about 600 quid.

Fuck yes, i use lots of freebs. Like the Musictheory one is really good, and so is 20mg or something like that. There is also the +Symphoney pack with has many great strings and such I feature in most of the 6D tracks.

I haven't searched for any new ones, but there are many out there.

I always recorded via direct line in out from my amp into Audacity.
It has a terrible overdub system. It's either that or my sound-card blows.
