I had a picture for this but i lost it somehow...anyway.

I have compiled my map in HDR. I have added a light environment, the three tomemap controllers that are being triggered by a logic_auto. Yet, for some reason, the models in the map are being super highlighted and look extremely bright, some are almost completely white, this includes the weapon models too. WTF!!!???!!!???

Have you included (and built) cubemaps?

Yes, for both HDR and non-HDR.

Well, can you grab another screen? It sounds like a cubemap problem, but I'd like to see it.

Agreed. Most models which use envmaps for reflections need a cubemap to work from otherwise I think they use a sky texture by default.

uh this has happened to me too once or twice. id be happy as well as hotdog if there was a fix for this... anyways, hotdog, have you tried flickering with the lights, as if changing their tones, increasing or decreasing appearance and brightness and that sort of stuff? it might be an error tho

It's not the light sources, gotta be a cubemap problem.

Put mat_reloadallmaterials in the console, then rebuild the cubemaps. If that doesn't work, delete all the cubemaps, replace them and recompile.

build cubemaps,
quit to desktop,
open the game and reload the map.

Ok, i will try both of those.

I thought you only had to disconnect from the map, not shut down HL, that might be whats wrong!

FIXED!!! YAY! Turns out Hunter was right! You actually have to completely restart Half-Life after building the cubemaps, not just restart the map. Thanks all!

you are correct, this "glowing models" glitch usually only happens when you havn't built cubemaps, or built them correctly, anyway, good to hear you got it working.
