Why is it that like NO americans anymore even support half-life 1 and it's mods anymore?

I am american and I personally still love older games. Basically everyone I see on this site are from a different country. I'm almost like the only american that appreciates this game. I'd like to hear if americans are actually on this site.

How did you come to this conclusion?

Check users' profiles for their location and you'll see that there are a good handful of 'Mericans on TWHL.

You know Joebama, I'm still scratching my head over your avatar. Can you please tell me the particular message, if any, you are trying to convey with it? I know it's political, but why are you going that route?

I see you are one American. I'd like to see more.

Oh yeah, and my Avatar isn't trying to prove anything. I just though it would be relevant from naming myself Joebama. Joe Biden + Barack Obama = Joebama

If you like Obama than you might not actually be American.

Because Americans are fat rich bastards with 4000$ PCs who only play CoD4:MW2, Crysis, DIRT2 and games like this. HL1 is so old for them that if you ask them if they heard about "Half-Life" they'll tell you:
Half-life is the period of time it takes for a substance undergoing decay to decrease by half. The name originally was used to describe a characteristic of unstable atoms (radioactive decay), but may apply to any quantity which follows a set-rate decay.
The original term, dating to 1907, was "half-life period", which was later shortened to "half-life" sometime in the early 1950s.
Of course, most of them will probably just say the game sucks at graphics, I repeat, being fat rich bastards that have no respect for old games that where glorious for their times, completely proving faggotry and forgeting about the feeling of nostalgia.

Sorry, I'm a little angry here. FUCKING ED, THAT SITE SHOULD BE BANNED, I FUCKING LANDED ON THE OFFENDED PAGE BY MISTAKE.
I feel like watching Tom&Jerry now to calm myself :crowbar:

Why not do some mapping instead of making pointless threads.

This wasn't exactly pointless.

What I think he meant by that is, you are granted permission to make pointless threads if you gain member's respect by making and posting good maps.

I know where he's coming from. everytime I read through one of your threads I feel like I just wasted part of my life.

Yeah, it kinda was. :\

I don't think country of origin highly affects what kind of games you like. It's more down to personal preference.

I somewhat grew up with games like Lands of Lore 2, Duke Nukem 3D and Half-Life, and I still like to play them. Just cause their graphics ain't what they could be today, doesn't mean they are worse games.

First off, Striker, I am an American.

I am not, however: Fat, Rich, Play CoD:MW2 or Dirt2.

I do appreciate old games and quite often feel a sense of nostalgia when I happen to come across a game that I played WELL before you were even born.

Half-Life's graphics and gameplay were exceptional, and still can suprise you to this day.

I get an overwhelming sense of joy doing things other than playing games as well.

I don't need to Wikipedia basic terms such as half-life in order to make a proper rebuttle.

If you are disturbed by Encyclopedia Dramatica then that to me proves that you are still a child.

Having said all that, if you persist to live in your delusions and ignorance about people from other countries, such as the U.S., then you will most certainly go nowhere in your professional life, as you have to deal with those people on a daily basis.

Almost forgot, enjoy watching your Tom & Jerry (AMERICAN) cartoon.

Thanks.

The real observation here is that the masses have no appreciation for the old framework that set the foundation for what we have today.
But surprise, surprise, you aren't the first to see this, and you won't be the last. Fucking everybody makes this observation.

This could be said about anything, especially movies. It doesn't matter what medium it is or where the person is.
Seriously, what's the first thing most people think when you tell them to watch an old, black and white movie? "Oh man, that movie's old, it can't be good."
The same even goes for foreign films.
