When i open Valve Hammer Editor in SourceSDK i get this error :

MountFilesystem( 217 ) failed: SteamMountFilesystem(2068,217,0xf18fd58=,0xf18fc48) failed with error 116: Cache needs repair

I tried to reinstall it but still the same error ._.

May I leech off your thread to post my random question about Hammer?

For some reason I can't see the mouse cursor in the 2D views when I'm in zoom mode. I end up clicking randomly the amount of times I need and then pressing CTRL+E to center on what I'm doing. Has anybody come across this before?

A mouse with no scroll wheel? I assume it has wooden rollers on the bottom as well?

Gtfo. Unless you live in Australia(no offence, lol), every mouse has a scroll wheel. Honestly, what Amish electronics store did you buy your mouse from? :P

a joke? nah couldn't be. I guess i was just trying to seriously say Australia is a backaward land with wild killeroo and vegimite sandwiches for every man, women and child, and where mice with a scroll wheel are but a legend.

Hey! At least one of my seven pet kangeroos is very, very nice. I call him Bitey, because he likes to... you know what, nevermind.

... I'm not seeing your point, CT. Are you saying those things aren't true?
Maybe I just don't see many other mice than my own, which is one of legend.
Oh well. One day.

Well to be honest it's also a rolling ball mouse. No lasers or other trinkets.

When I got it, optical mouses were a new thing and I wouldn't take chances. I didn't like seeing my friends' cursors going crazy like they do sometimes. On the upside, the salesman gave it to me for free because probably nobody else wanted it.

But you can get optical mice with scrollwheels for less than €10. Admittedly, every single one of those that I've ever used has been absolute bollocks and there's more times where the cursor goes crazy than not, but at least the scroll wheel works. Usually.

I know, I just don't find myself in dire need of a new mouse. Having the cursor disappear in Hammer is not a reason, only Valve's excuse not to fix it.

For me it was always there from the start. It's actually the main reason I had for mostly staying with GoldSrc, as I always hated using the scrollwheel to zoom. It always messed up the spacing of the gridlines.
There may be some way to fix it, perhaps by messing with the .exe file. I assume that's where cursor images for programs are stored.

But there's two excellent reasons that you DO have a dire need for a new mouse, right there!

This thread is now the 'DiscoStu needs a new mouse' thread.

At least it's PS2.

Are there good optical mice that don't randomly decide to make the cursor all crazy?
