I noticed there isn't a(n) (active) thread for movies you've seen recently, so I decided to make one!

I just finished The Thing and it's 2 AM. I might have some trouble sleeping.

Oh wow, nobody posted anything in the old thread since October.

Last I saw was Natural Born Killers. The cinematography was outstanding. Almost the entire film is cut in a way that replicates dreamlike pacing, and it's about as accurate as anything I've ever seen.
I hated the "protagonists" though--I still don't know if that was intended by the filmmakers.

Watched Breaking Dawn - Part 1 last night to keep the wife happy. I gotta say that this was the most boring one yet. The closing few scenes were pretty grim too.

On TV I'm watching Homeland. That's much more up my street. Also makes me wonder what's with all the brits pretending to be Americans these days...

Started watching Breaking Bad. With four episodes in, I still can't decide if it's generally brilliant, or an average show with a few brilliant moments.

Don't get it though how it even got nominated for its 'outstanding cinematography'...lighting and composition is as bland and handycam-shaky as it can get. But aside that, writing and directing is spot on IMHO.

I saw a good Brazilian film this morning, Adrift.

I did not expect it, but it felt like Dear Esther in a strange way. Granted, the beach is populated with fourteen-year-old girls in bikinis, but perhaps it was the music and the dark tone of the film toward the end that brought the connection to my mind.

I mentioned it a few years ago, but in case anyone is wondering whether Half-Life 2 is ever going to be made into a movie, I would argue that it has already.

I've watched "Ghost In The Shell" at least 3 or 4 times now and I still don't get some parts of the movie.

Magnolia.

I liked the film a lot but I'm not entirely too sure why. It's worth checking out, but almost impossible to explain what the fuck is happening.

The Dark Knight Rises

Has anyone else seen it yet?
Can't say it was as good as I wanted it to be. I wouldn't say that it was bad, it just didn't live up to the hype. The other two were better, but it was still really awesome mostly thanks to Bane. He stole the whole show.
