A Uwe Bol film about a kid who builds a bulletproof suit and goes on a killing spree. It was not great.

The actor picked for the kid was great for the role, his face, i can't explain it. He really looked like a kid with some issues. Some of the killing spree was awkward to watch, it just seemed to go on and on and on. Just the kid shooting unarmed people, over and over and over. Maybe that was the point, I'm sure something like that feels like it lasts forever to everyone there.

There were dumb half-second flashbacks of the spree from the very beginning of the movie, that got longer and clearer. It almost spoiled itself. If I were smarter, it would have. Not good.

Also, he reloaded once. ONCE. Killed about a hundred people. One reload.

Before that I watched The Boondock Saints which I'm sure everyone has seen.

The Professional.

I found the movie buried under a pile of old DVDs and decided to watch it. I was not disappointed. It was an excellent film, particularly the final act, which made me sob.

I saw Captain America recently. Everyone said how terrible they thought it was, I thought it was quite good.
I also saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes the other day. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I also liked all of the little nods to the old movies.

A clever blend of different genres, I must say. Entertaining as hell. I'd definitely say it's worth a watch.

Bad Teacher.

Not even Cameron Diaz's hotness is enough to redeem this steaming pile of shit.
Her character is so annoying that she just becomes insanely unattractive. Not a smart move by the director - removing the only selling point of the film.

"Blue Valentine"

What a masterpiece!

I had high expectation for this film, after hearing what the critics had to say.

But I always reserve some level of skepticism for film critics.

They are either overly critical, or they are ingratiating.

They prove to be right on the money for this one.

"Blue Valentine" is a bitter sweet love story about two ordinary people falling in and out of love. Watching it leaves you heart-broken, while making you savor the wonderful bits of their relationship at the same time.

It ranks one of the best movies I have seen, and I set my standard pretty high.

Ronin
Good seeing a proper action film that (some explosions aside) feels real, and isn't so reliant on CGI. Also Jean Reno, fuck yeah.

Mulholland Drive
Don't know what to think about this one. Lynch just loves confusing the hell out of his audience. It's even more confusing considering the first two-thirds of the film are pretty coherent before he drops the what-the-hell moments on you and you walk away dumbstruck.

Remember Me

Utter drivel bollocks. A movie with one single selling point. "Staring Twilight's Robert Pattinson." (not a good thing)

Was mindlessly bored throughout and then the movie ended with the 9/11 attacks for no reason at all.

I can't explain how shit this movie was in words... so...

The ending was the whole point of the film, the rest was just build-up. Watching the film you did not expect it to end like it did, just as the attacks weren't expected to happen in real life and nobody expected to lose their family member or friend that day. They couldn't advertise it as a 9/11 film because then the point would be ruined. If you don't care for the characters, I can see how you don't care for the ending. You don't care if a film character you don't care about dies.

I liked it, but that's probably because I was expecting total crap. ("Staring Twilight's Robert Pattinson")

If you have read this and/or the above post, do not see Remember Me.

Return of the Living Dead

It was a pretty good movie. It had some nudity here, some funny parts there, and alot of awesome zombiness.

I laughed when one of the zombies got into the ambulance and said into the radio "Bring more paremedics."

Also, I found it cool when they got one of the zombies who said "Brains... they take the pain away. The pain of being dead... and feeling your body rot." I also liked the part when the guy who caused this mess, and had become a zombie, chose to burn himself.

EDIT: Better than the original Night of the Living Dead, and that's actually saying something.

The perspective of someone so young makes me feel a lot older than I am.
I remember seeing the original in the cinema with some mates.
If you class 2003 as "really OLD" I'd be very interested to hear how you define films as old as Some Like It Hot - one of my absolute favourites.

I don't usually watch horrors, but films like these represent my horror genre. It's just a deep psychological interaction with my disgust for the darkest corners of the human mind.

Layer Cake is excellent. I love that you never get told the character's name.

Excellent movies to watch whilst stoned:

All for very different reasons, but all will blow your mind if you're baked.
