Smoking weed is like a lot of things in life: Nothing wrong with it in moderation.
Just because some idiots abuse it doesn't make it bad.

It all comes down to self-control. I mean smoking it AND not smoking it. I haven't, probably won't.

Watched Eastern Promises today.

Interesting Russian gangster kinda movie. You get to see Viggo Mortensen get attacked by two guys while very naked. It was awkward.

I never tried the stuff for the longest time due to the stigma associated with stoners, but I do enjoy it quite a lot now.

it's like collapse intimated, that there is nothing wrong with smoking, so long as you don't make it your singular lifestyle to get stoned.

edit: agreed Luke, naked man fighting two other men with vicious-looking carpet knives is awkward as hell. pretty good flick though from what I renember.

Avengers -- Really good and waaaayyy better than i ever expected. Props to Joss Whedon as the writing/directing is great, even if i don't care for the main story idea really.

Rewatched American Beauty. Shed a few manly tears. Still in my top 5.
Just watched Layer Cake.

First time I watched it I was high as balls. Now I watched it drunk. It was very difficult to follow either time, but I got it now.

Very Guy Richie-esque. A fantastic Daniel Craig film.
Layer Cake is a great film!

Being someone who enjoys learning of and debating religion I found the film "God On Trial" quite interesting. It's free on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5caAug5n8Zk&feature=related

If you share my interest I recommend it. It's about a group of Jews trying to find god's reasoning during the holocaust. Apparently it's based upon a discussion that actually took place within Auschwitz.

War Walks BBC series.

It's really interesting stuff and i think one of the episodes is available on youtube as well.

Soup: I agree, if you are too high that is definitely the case. If i hit the sweet spot(not too much nor too little), i defintely gain insight and pick up parts of the story i never noticed before, mostly cuz i think cannabis allows me to relax and focus on one thing, where normally i'd be half-watchihg and thinking about something else.

Just watched Chronicle.

The similarities between Chronicle and Akira were uncanny, but it was good. Actually, it was insanely good. Don't be put off by the Blair Witch/Cloverfield style narration.
Be sure to see this one.

In case the trailers are too vague: three students stumble on a deep hole in the ground, inside which they find a glowing rock. Something happens and they develop telekinetic powers. The film follows their day-to-day life as they dick around with their newfound powers. The more they exercise it, the stronger they become ("like a muscle")--from moving Legos on the floor to learning to flying to... well if you've seen Akira, you can guess where it heads.

I just think there's more to this film than what's presented. Perhaps it's easy to guess that's an allegory to good and evil will. Heh, Matt actually said something about Plato's cave(although that's about knowldege), so yeah.

Same here. Basically a crapload of other European theaters are already playing it (or are confirmed to do so in the next month), and Hungary is one of the few, which still can't make it's mind up. Bollocks :/

I watched Prometheus on 31/05/2012. I really liked it. Just try not to think about it as a prequel to Alien. It's standalone plot and it's nice. Too many questions though, but this is cool- makes your brain work for a bit.

Follow up film to the awesome Firefly... not as good as the series, but good nevertheless... apart from killing off main characters kinda shoots down any talk of a second season.

I just saw the Iron Sky trailer. Even if this film might not be very good, the plot sounds ridiculous, so perhaps it is worth a watch. Frankly, I'm indifferent, but I wonder how is this movie even possible given present society's principles?
