I'd keep that bright red colour, though. It works very well with the rest of the level.

Looks neat, Trempler - very distinct visually. Wish the screenies were higher res so I could actually make out details, but from what I can see it's very nice. What engine?

Working a lot with the Skyrim creation kit.

Thought up a fun quest involving Dimbark, a child who was supposedly dead but really just knows a lot of illusion spells and hides among the Dragur, occasionally going to Whiterun to steal goods.

All the images you post are obviously downscaled, but from what? 800x480 is not 16:9 nor is it 16:10. So what the hell kind of monitor do you have that is 5:3?

It does look very, very nice, but is it poking fun at the recent influx of indie platformers with silhouetted foregrounds or just joining their ranks?
Archie ArchieGoodbye Moonmen
Posted 12 years ago2012-05-24 00:10:32 UTC Post #306443
Neither............

It was the tastes of the person that is characterized in the scene. I was oblivious to the silhouette indie fad.

If I really work on it, I could replace the black graphics with actual stuff. I just thought black felt like ink on parchment paper.

Pretty fun concept, but the mapping could use a bit of work. It looks very dated - circa 1998 - and I wholeheartedly recommend you don't voice act in your own projects for a few years.

Look forward to playing it when it's done!

So the main character is a kid?
I'd personally recommend against that. Games that mix violence and children (By which I mean anyone under 18, so teenagers as well) are guaranteed to cause a shitstorm, even more so than someone making 1-1 maps of their school or workplace. It's very likely it could land you in hot water.

The main character is not, as a matter of fact, a kid.

(But, there was a DimQuest spin-off that featured a... nevermind.)

However, the kid is a major figure in the game, and he has actually spent 320 years... living.

He guides the main character through heart-to-heart. He also convinced the Barney to take a crowbar and break open the window so the main character can escape.

Schools are extremely anal about letting people recreate their buildings and campuses. They're concerned about terrorist threats.

Student arrested for making a map of his school

Of course, this is an isolated case. I'm only under the assumption that most schools deal with this the same way as Clement.

In college we had a lunchtime gaming club. One of the guys made map based off the main college building. Nothing ever came of that. Saying that, because we were on an IT course most of the tutors were gamers anyway. They were all for the idea. :)

“They arrested him,” Chen said of FBISD police, “and also went to the house to search.” The Lin family consented to the search, and a hammer was found in the boy’s room, which he used to fix his bed, because it wasn’t in good shape, Chen said. He indicated police seized the hammer as a potential weapon.
LOL noes call Valve! they took his Hammer!!1 :x
