I have a kick-ass texture I made that is just awesome. Guess what? I made it in paint. Now I try to import it into Wally so I can make a WAD and when I put it in the WAD it uses a different Palette so all the colors are messed up! How do I make Wally create a new palette according to all the colors you use in a picture? I really love this texture...

Wally makes them automagically for me :)
I drag & drop from Explorer onto open WADs in Wally.

It should import 8-bit palettes. If it doesnt, then something's wrong. It makes my palettes too. I think you can also edit each individual color through Wally, not sure though.

Wally automatically changes the bitmap you insert in an open .wad file to 8-bits. It generates a palette so that quality-loss is minimal. There will be some loss but in most cases it's only hardly noticed.

Make sure the bitmaps you're importing aren't paletted already, that might confuse it (no GIFs!).

I recommend importing BMPs into Wally.

It is a bmp. I tlooks really bright in Wally but when I actually import it into the game it is normal. Weird huh.

Wally sometimes over-corrects for the increase in monitor gamma that 'occurs' in full-screen.

Wally has a brightness that you can change in it's Options.

i think it has something to do with it using the color pallette of jpg. theres prolly a way to switch it to whatever pallette paint uses just try finding it in paint than in wally and choose the right one. im not sure if thatll work thow cuz i dont even have wally lol

It has nothing to do with that, zeeba-G. It's just the brightness setting of Wally.

I really want to see that texture.
You say you've made it in paint and it's awesome? Makes me curious.

Here is the texture. I didn't make it all, but I had to delete and remake half of it so it would tile properly.

Looks good but it's very repetetive (mainly due to the large brown tile on top of the texture). A modified photo?
