Hm. Use masked, and func_wall_toggles or env_renders.

The masked and animated codes can't be combined. So, as 7th suggests, you'll have to find a way around...

Use a sprite!

Now that's a good suggestion.

I've read an article on the VERC about locking a sprites axis... might also be usefull now... :)

it cant be a sprite, remember those plants from super mario bros 3 that come up outa the pipes and bite you? i was gonna make that-the texture so that it could be animated(plant bighting)masked so u know why and than-a funk train that goes up and down and a multimanager that triggers some trigger hurts :) i realy wanna make him and after i do this one i will than try an dmake the one that shoots fire balls which will take a hell of a lotta triggers. Is there anyway i can just use spirit for this? if so can u gimme a link for it.

Such things are better suited to become models. Enemies nowadays nearly always are made of models and some AI coded, expecially when you use them frequent that's the best option.
