my friend recorded his voice... i converted it the same setup as another

sound that works in my map... i placed my friends voice in sound then

misc and used it as an ambient_generic in my map.... when i go to play

the map it freezes at verifying resources i click cancel and open console

.... it says something about not being able to transmit sound.... someone

help !!!

It's probably the wrong format. It should be 22,050kHz, 8-bit, mono.

Make sure its not too big too - if its something over 2 MB then sometimes the game will fail to play the sound

the largest sounds in hl were under 500KB

^ If its a larger sound, split it into 2 or three files. Most of the ones in HL were even below 500k, I didn't see but one or two that exceeded 250k.

For another problem....I have set ambien generic on my map but when I tes whit trigger that ambien generic on my map the sound is always repeart before the sound finish playing? Why?? :confused:

Check the flags. You want to set the Not Toggled flag so it plays once each time you trigger it instead of getting toggled between on and off.

i want know which ambient_generic must modification if:
1. sound play one time
2.sound play never stop (like Opera in map cs_italy)
3.sound play stop for several minute and then continues play again :

Sound play and never stop, i mean like ambient/Opera or ambient/fire. I make ambient_generic whit this sound but when i trigger this sound stop before finish. I want play continues and never end. At ambience_generic flags i check like this....
1. medium area
2. it's loapped
It's right??? :

Uncheck the looped flag, it actually says "is NOT looped".
