how in god's name do i make frickin' enemies?

i have models and....... models. So how do i make an enemy from scratch (other than models)?

don't tell me how to make ai, just tell me:
1) how do insert a model into an enemy (ie: how can i make a barney look like a grunt?)
2) how do i make new actions for a model?
3) how do i make weapons for an enemy?
4) how coud i make an enemy from just a model?

Thank you so very much!

PS i'm slightly stupid so explain in a very detailed way please. thanx.

To insert a new model use Spirit, ask Vassy, think he uses it... It?s some sort of HL port with added stuff, new entities, multiple entities in a single brush... Don?t know, never used it as it ain?t compatible with classic HL (if you use this new stuff).
You can also get a Pak viewer and change the grunt model for the Barney model. This could work altough grunts have at least 3 or 4 different skins/models and Barneys just one.
To make new weapons and new action you must code it... If you know C download the SDK (or something like that, I have it, but stored in CD until I learn C) and get to work... See if with Scripted sequences you can make the monster to do what you want (if it?s simple and doesn?t happen to often).
You can show a model with the monster_generic entity but it will only respond to Scripted Sequences and, well, it doesn?t does much.

spirit. download it from someplace or other...yeah, it shouldve been i link but i cant b bothered. just make the entity and set behaviour to human military. or military, whichevers there. sry cant b more helpful bit i really cant b bothered right now...

spirit won't do everything you asked for, you'll need to know modeling, coding, and did i mention coding (c++) and modeling...

You know, as I don?t use spirit I can?t tell. Just read somewhere that monster behaviour could be changed with other monster?s.

yeah spirit gets annoyin. i want an alien grunt 2 follow me. unfortunatley i hav 2 put up with the alien grunt talking like a barney and nto shooting scientists or real barneys.

Okay, here is my deal.

I am working on a HL2 mod, yes its early, but i take my time and I have started for HL1 to learn how to edit and all that.

If you want to know more about the mod I suggest that you go to http://www.glitchedtodeath.moddb.com

A large part of the gameplay constists of shooting and dodging geometricly shaped objects, like a sort of 3D astroids thing :-)

I can make 3d models of those, but do i have to?
I want to be able to shoot them and make them move in a prescripted path.
Can I just make some brushes and use func_train? Will I be able to shoot them so that they explode?

Well, I can't see that you can make these at all. Wait till Hammer 4/HL2?

You can't put a model on a _train nor make it a _breakable. You can't make a brush both.

To make enemies you can talk smack, tell lies about people, publish their maps as your own, make sexual comments about their mother or father, flirt with their girl/boyfriend, steal their credit card and run up the bill... the possibilities are endless!
