hi, i have a problem in that when the bomb goes boom, nothing happens, im using hammer 3.5 and Merle's half-life tools, running on steam/CS1.6. anyone got any thoughts on this?

i dont realy think its a steam problem, so much as a general bomb site dont work problem. the tutorial i followed said to create a brush with that aaa texture, and attatch it to func_bomb_target, which i did. the explosion works, but when it explodes, CS fails to recognize that explosion, and therefore does not award CT the win.

i compile a basic test map, got from elsewhere, it works, is it the problem that im using the aaa texture on my brush?

You can have AAATrigger on trigger brushes, thats what it was designed for.

I personally prefer the {INVISIBLE texture.

But other than that I don't see what could be wrong. I used the counter-map tutorial (http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tutorials/tutorial.php?id=57)

can the bomb be submerged in water when it detonates?

Here's a tutorial for tricking it into letting you plant underwater. Otherwise, if you had it like that, it would not work. It can't explode unless you change this: http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Tutorials/tutorial.php?id=49

Did you by any chace start a server from title screen console or from letting the game start after compile? If so, goal don't work. That starts a single player game and in "single player" cs goals don't work.

you need to create a trigger brush around your bomb target with the "AAAtrigger" texture, in game, it will NOT come up in any form or fashion, you can walk right into it..., it is used to designate spots such as buyzones away from the player start area in CS... :badass: :)

Unless the bomb is underwater. It won't explode if the bomb is placed underwater. Think to fy_poolday, where you plant the bomb on top of the diving board. Usually people would plant it underwater, but when the timer would run down, they would get confused. :P

how do you use hammer 3.5 to create a map?
read the tutorials and dont spam other non related threads.
