If you understand for mod something based on Half Life that plays exactly has Half-Life and is intended to be related to the original one, I?m working on it.
It?s the first thing I do, based on the overused "Gordon has a mission" stuff. I try it to be fun and look nice enough, with little bits of scripting and some history.
Is that a mod?.

Yeah, the topic is about good advice for people thinking of doing their own Mod.

btw do a mod HAVE to include lots of coding, reskinning, modeling etc hard programming stuff?
or cant you just make a series of maps and call them mod?

Change the existing weapons or add more. Suggestions: Sniper rifle! And I'm thinking of doing another black mesa mod (YAWN!). HL: Science. You play as walter. It will have a lot of blue shift's characters (Civilian scis and barneys, gordon in a lab coat maybe). And I'm gonna work on something with black cat: HL through the eyes of gman (A single map). HL: Science is gonna be made with spirit. It may have other civilian scientists as well, like luther and slick. Maybe a civilian otis. Also, does anyone know where I can get the opfor source code, so I can add opfor's weapons to the mod? At least the desert eagle, anyway.

just make a new weapon yourself! You need to know some C++ though! Step 1: Extract the model of the weapon of your choice from the pak file. Step 2: Learn C++ and create a file for the weapon! Just guess the values! Should be quite easy once u know c++ (which is fedit impossible 2 learn, i know cos i've learnt it ages ago!) :D

OK, I'm just gonna stick with regular HL weapons. I would love dearly to have a barney with MP5 model (If you are a high def-er, make a barney with M4A1 model, which is what I really want)! However, it isn't that important. My C++ compiler's kinda lame anyway. Oh well. I made a civilian otis by reskinning the armoured otis, and it looks ok! Any other single player mods out there? I'd love to play another...
