I'm making a map. (Sector F) And i want a barney to open a door using a retinal scanner. there is multi-managers involved. right?
so is this what i have to do:
-setup a trigger_once so when player passes through it, barney will walk to retinal scanner
-then setup another scripted_sequence for him to use the retinal scanner
-next i make a trigger_auto and set it's time to whenever he's done walking to the retinal scanner

How Do i actually get him to open the door when he uses the retinal
scanner?

The retinal scanner targets the door.

make the retinal scanner a func_wall. after the scripted sequence is done...have i trigger a multimanager which triggers sounds and stuff and then triggers the door
if the player uses the scanner put a aaatrigger brush and make it a button that does not move to trigger another mm that makes just noises and then a sound saying "cannot enter" or whatever you want
