Hey! i know you can help me! i just started mapping with steam and VHE 3.5b and now that its working i cannot get it to load custom sounds, sprites, and models. even the ones from half-life.gcf " im using cs 1.6 by the way " when i make a map it compiles fine, then when i try to load it in cs. it stops loading and goes back to the main menu. where do i place the models, sounds, sprites? and where do i select them to be read from in VHE? :

You place them in the C:Program FilesValveSteamSteamAppsyouremailadress@whatever.comcounter-strikecstrike folder. That's the mod folder of Counterstrike. So you should create a maps, models and a sound folder in there and place your resources in their corresponding folder.

That should work. Good luck!

No problem.

Only reason I didn't answer this one was because you specificially named Cap'n P ;)

As for the weather, p'raps Google for cs+1.6+weather or try Counter-Map.

Everything I know concerning mapping comes from 3 years of experience and a lot of searching. When someone asks a question, I often check my solution first to ensure it works. When I don't know something, I try to find out. After quite some time it's a second nature, searching becomes easier and you'll find the solution is often right around the corner. A bit of experimenting can learn you a lot, often more than when someone else gives you the solution.

At least that's the way I look at it...

Yes...searching for the answer to a question you don't know the answer to has helped me an aweful lot. Only problem is....by the time I've figured out a solution....YOU or seventh have already answered. You gits. jk :P

Then search before asking... :P

I'm talking about trying to answer OTHER peoples questions. (though that said, any questions I DO ask, had i searched better I could have found out too!)
